I got PPR on July 18, 2023, and I submitted my passport July 21 at VFS Abuja. Same day I submitted the passport, I got an email that the passport is in transit to IRCC. On July 28, I was told the passport is at IRCC office. The problem is that i already have my flight scheduled to leave Naija from Lagos on Tuesday next week. I chatted with VFS abuja who confirmed the passport is with IRCC.

What are my chances of getting my passport back from VFS Abuja before my travel, and is it possible to send a relative to pickup the passport on my behalf at VFS Abuja?

Your passport has been with VFS/IRCC since July 18th? There is a 90% possibility that your passport has been stamped and awaiting pickup. But the incompetent VFS failed to update you.

Someone in the WhatsApp group also had same issue. He had to go pick up his stamped passport last week after waiting for almost a month with no update.

Check your IRCC dashboard if your visa details has been updated.

No, I submitted to VFS on the 21st of July. I chatted with Chiamaka today, and she confirmed my passport is still at IRCC. My IRCC dashboard has not changed after my passport was requested.

It's 7-10 days after submitting it, it will be ready for collection.. that's how long my own took sha

Background- I have valid US and UK visas. Also several expired Schengen visas. So I am a frequent traveler and most trips are for tourism.

Applied as a tourist with hotel reservation. No family or friend in Canada was mentioned in my application
Submitted all the regular documents - nothing extra

I am having the same hitch here too.....Could it be that there is something wrong with IRCC website?.....cos there is a maintenance notice on the webpage...

The IRCC Portal and the online applications for visitor visa, study permit and Refugee claims will be unavailable from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET on August 3rd 2023, in order to perform system maintenance.

It was a terrible experience I had for more than 6days until I got the solution from a platform. Very simple logic , just add the dates on your post secondary education in your work history and input unemployment for those dates ..simple.

Please how do I merge a bank statement that is encrypted. That has a passcode before the bank statement can be seen. My bank said that’s how they generate their own statement, I don’t know how to merge it with my other documents

Lol is not easy but possible you can only help him search for the jobs on Canadian jobs site which your friend can easily do as well.

Is your friend already secure his visitor visa? If yes let me travel and look for the jobs the employer prefer people that's already in the Canada.

Use " I love PDF" and compress the docs

Unlock with your account number first then convert it to word and switch it back to pdf simple.

After you merge all your documents compress it to 2mb you can also use ilovepdf.

No big deal, got there around 12:30, I was even scared I might not get it , but I saw a line and joined it. They gave numbers I got number 367. Got in around 3:00 and that was all. Apparently some people got in earlier as collection is between 12 and 2

I paid for it at the point of submission.
I submitted thru courier, so I included the payment receipt for the One-way courier in the envelope along with the passport.

I didn't get to track it eventually as it arrived before I got the information on how to track it.

Send an email to them...they usually respond within 2 biz days

Yes the sent me the courier form which filled and sent it to them alongside my receipt since last week Monday no confirmation from them up till, I have been sending emails to them still no updates. Although, I spoke to one of their representatives yesterday she will forward complain to the Abuja branch up till now no update from them.
