If Igbos become an autonomous region...with their own things..

I can bet millions that they region will over take must improving small countries like Lesotho, Rwanda, Ghana, even Mauritius in about 20 years.

You can take that to the bank.

Now stubborn Igbos are developing everywhere...

This is Contonou Benin republic..and they have no oil.

Thank God we have a good news coming from the Biafra land this time.

We don't want to hear any bad news from that side again.

A lot and yet to complete any reasonable one, go to that ifite road that leads to unizik you'll cry for those students.

Fegge is now a shadow of itself, courtesy of bad roads, ogbaru Road has disappeared...I don't understand exactly what soludo is doing.

A Nigerian secondary school having such infrastructure, commendable.

Giving back to the schools that nurtured one, is something everyone should be involved in.

Oh, my days!

I remember that our refectory (Ụnọ Ose), was right where the new auditorium is now situated. It was where we separated the boys from the men. If you know say you be man, you go carry your house food chop (Igba rough). This was how you bought yourself a reputation as a tough guy on campus. Yours truly was a tough guy. You would then have to come to terms with our amiable headmaster, Reverend Father Charles Iheme (Odobro), and housemaster, Mr. Nworah, who would eventually treat your efup.

Those were the days. Our librarian was an Oyinbo woman. Yes, we had a well-stocked library, and our immediate neighbor, the Bigard Memorial Seminary, is also a renowned institution. Don't ask us what we did with their big, fresh-looking, juicy kerosene mangoes. These ones na umu mummy. Upcoming Reverend Fathers.

The College of the Immaculate Conception has produced great men and continues to produce some of the best students in Nigeria, and I am very grateful and immensely proud to be a Semper. We have witnessed a different Nigeria. Granted, CIC was an elite college then and still is. It was home to the children of politicians and successful business people, as well as ordinary people. The student population was, and still is, balanced.

It was a common sight to see the best and newest cars picking up students at one o'clock in the afternoon. It was as if cars were going out of fashion. Students will litter the campus with these cars on weekends, as we do in a show of who is who, and, of course, the off-campus parties (Ebọ).

Yes, CIC has produced the who's who of Southeast politics, business, academia, and entertainment. But there were also several students from the Southwest in my days between these walls. Chinedu Okoli (Flavour) is also an alumnus.

We experienced a different Nigeria, different from the mediocre leadership at all levels we are now confronted with. Those were the days when a Nigerian student could be sure of completing a 4-year course in exactly 4 years. We also had piped water in our homes. Our water taps at CIC gave us clean, government-produced water for the tuition and boarding fees our parents paid.

This is the Nigeria we are now fighting to return to, rather than having surpassed. At the very least, what we have here should not be exemplary, but ought to represent the minimum a Nigerian secondary school should embody.

I wish I had the new football pitch to play on when I was there, but I am very proud that some of those coming after us can now have and enjoy such a facility.

There will be more to come to CIC from us. And I am confident that the other classes will join the alumni in taking our noble CIC to greater and greater heights. I wish I could say the same for Nigeria as a whole, but that's why we are fighting against the agents of darkness that lurk around here, promoting retrogression in the name of, he is my tribesman. It is his turn.

It is nobody's turn. It is the turn of Nigeria and Nigerians. Make una finally change.

It's a process, if you're in Awka you will acknowledge he is constructing many roads, he wants those area flagged off to be completed, he will flag more roads off soon, he had awarded roads in Fegge

Igwebuike old boys association Awka has started contributing in rebuilding the school
This is one the basic reasons why Igbos have the best human capital development in Africa. Imagine a secondary school having facilities many higher institutions in Nigeria don't even have. This school you posted is a public secondary school in a rural area yet its entrance looks better than some higher institution in Nigeria.

The akuruo ulo mantra by Igbos is what will solidify our position going forward. Instead of Yorubas to learn from Igbos and at least change their brown roofs, they will rather shout ronu during election and attack innocent Nigerians over their choice of candidates. SMH.

CIC was the secondary school I attended.

SEMPER FIDELIS

CIC is always ahead of the rest

The school has produced many federal ministers, governors
e.g Clement Akpangbo, CC Onoh, Robert Akonobi, Chimaroke Nnamani, Sullivan Chima e.t.c.

Even Nigeria in 30 years. Singapore is smaller than Lagos (smallest state in Nigeria ) by far but is still more developed and richer than Nigeria by per Capita.
