Good day everyone, trust you all are having a great day. I need you experienced folks to help counsel me on this issue that has been bothering me for some time now.

I'm currently a 200 level Pharmacy student in one of the State universities in the Eastern part of Nigeria. The thing is that I've been contemplating a change of course to Medicine and Surgery due to some family reasons and before I proceed but then I'm unsure of the risks involved.
Let me break down the key points in all of these...
1. The Pharmacy program lacks accreditation in my school and we are are just the third set to have started the program, while Med Surg has accreditation and has a good standing in the school.

2. The cost of switching is on the high side but my dad always give me the assurance that the money is not the problem but the problem is me deciding on what I want to be since it's my life. He'll support any decision I take.

3. I have a very good CGPA from my 100 level and my results speaks volumes for themselves.

4. I'll call myself an average book reader as I usually get bored after reading for 3 hours a day. I don't know if this will be a hindrance to me should I go over to Medicine and Surgery where they have to read a lot.

5. The Med Surg program is very slow and it takes a long while before they write Pre MB exams talkless of 1st MB. I'm currently 20 and I'll turn 21 later in the year. I really want to finish school in record time to focus on other interests that I have as I'm somebody that likes to put my hands in many things and try out new things. I don't know if Medicine will also give me this freedom in the long run even when practicing.

5. A little issue of our current HOD currently refusing all Pharmacy students switch to another department to "enable the department grow".

I love both courses but I need help on deciding the best thing for my future as time is currently running out to pick the change of course form. Thanks as all your inputs will be appreciated 🙏🏽

I think you should stick with the pharmacy course as I suppose it will be accredited soon that's why you're admitted for the course. And to save time too.
