From my own point of view and the little research I have done you're 80% correct. There's a church called Gospel Deliverance mission, I have read alot on thier manual, thier teaching is so deep and interesting.
Some truths are hidden.

Your soul does leave your body when you are at sleep, except you die. And we have no control over our soul we only have control over our mortal body to an extent. when one is dead the soul returns back to the creator for judgement. And as for reincarnation it's 💯 true but only about 2% of reincarnated people can remember their past lives, I know your mind is telling you that there's no "GOD" abi? Soul? what exactly is that? I looked through a biology book but couldn't find a reference to souls. I looked through a mythology book however and found all kinds of information on souls. Are there any peer reviewed scholastic research papers published in any medical journals that I could learn more about this thing called souls? What gene is it linked to in our DNA? What kind of cells is it made of or what exactly is it made of? can we see thing thing with an MRI machine or a powerful microscope? Scientists study everything; why don't they study souls? Is it for the same reasons they don't study the powers of Deadpool or the magic of Harry Potter?

Scientists don't know nor study 99.9999% of what there is to know and study in our universe. Infact you can almost say scientists don't know anything.
Children come back with clear memory of their past lives - Scientists CAN'T study that. All they know is that all memory is in the brain and once the brain is cremated all memory is gone!

there maybe truth in your 2nd point, especially when we went into deep sleep. Those who went into comma for days and revived back may have something to say about that...

In the year 2012 my younger sister had a fatal accident, she was on a bike (okada) when they got hit by a lorry, the bike man died on the spot, my sister was in koma for a couple of weeks, when she woke up after surgery, she told us that when the car hit them, she left her body and was watching her own body.
What was that that left the body, soul.
Reach within yourself, you will realise that there is a part of you that will never die, you just don't have control over it.
