ECOWAS leaders have directed immediate activation of the use of force against the Niger Republic military junta. They have also called on the African Union, AU, partner countries and institutions to support the resolution taken by the sub-regional body.

ECOWAS says all efforts made to dialogue with Niger Republic military junta have been defiantly rejected by coup leaders as they condemn continuous detention of President Mohamed Bazoum and his family members.

The resolution by ECOWAS leaders was reached at the Extra-ordinary Summit on Political situation in Niger Republic attended by eight leaders of member-countries and Foreign Ministers of Liberia and the Gambia ends in Abuja.

President of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani and his Burundian counterpart, Everiste Ndayishimiye attended second ECOWAS extra-ordinary summit on Niger Republic on invitation of their colleagues.

So this issue eventually getting out of hand, I don't think it is too late to tone down these rhetoric and continue dialogue in the best interest of the masses.

It's unfortunate the leadership of ECOWAS played into the hands of western colonial imperialists.

Africa needs leaders that can protect her interests.

Diplomacy is the key needed to resolve the crisis not military action.

Wrong Move...

Whatever happened to

President Bola Tinubu says the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will give top priority to diplomacy and dialogue in ending the crisis in the Republic of Niger.

Have you explore every avenue of dialogue and diplomacy ...
The National Intelligence Agency should please brief the President.

War is so old school.. we should be focusing on Economic and Technological developments, every shot fired whether bullet or missile is not produce by ECOWAS or the Coupist bloc .. so who are we enrinching ...We can talk this over .

Oh well. African Union's ultimatum in the coupists also expires this week.

The sanctions were already doing a good job. ECOWAS should let that hammer them first before checkmate.

MS247 doesn't want to be part of the soldiers that invade Niger Republic, yet, he is praising Tinubu for his stance on this irresponsible conduct.

Talk of hypocrisy and double standard

Oga, the population of all those your Benin, Cape Verde, etc, etc no even rich on LGA in Bayelsa.

So what will they contribute? Tinubu will use your oil and gas money to prosecute a war in Niger, just to allow the Westerner pass oil and gas pipe from Nigeria through Niger to Europe via which your future and that of your generations are drained away.
