That's because not many people are using it.

Another thing is, you need something to cool the UPS, I added extra FANs inside the UPS and that's taken care of. Without those extra FANs inside the UPS, it would quickly overHeat

Thanks so much. I'm definitely getting another 220ah tubular battery.

About UPS, I tried it before but the wire got so hot in some instances (even though it was Okada battery o.. I can imagine how hot it'll be with tubular battery).

The heat issues and having to be using big wires was why I opted for 24v inverter.

The way this country dey go, prices just dey scatter... It's upsetting. Tubular battery I buy 135k last month fit don enter 150k now angry

The higher the Voltage, the lower the Current requirement and when the current requirement is low, you don't need very big wires.

hence a 12Volts inverter system would require bigger wires than a 24-volts inverter system and a 24-Volts inverter system would require bigger wires than a 48-Volts inverter system.

As for using UPS, ensure you know what you're doing, or you have someone who knows about it set it up for you. Don't worry, iNoDeyFindwork

It wasn't. Do you have an issue with one inverter which wasn't connected to earth ?
TechGeek777:

Thanks for your input, was the dead inverter connected to earth?

I av come again gurus, I have a 12v 1kva hybrid afripower inverter(spec is pwm wit max volt, current and panel as 25v,25a and 600w resp) which i mainly use to power lights and TV. Was working towards adding 600w solar panel wit seperate CC just so I can add my freezer to it. Today I decided to just plug the freezer to the inverter today to even see if it would carry it and voila inverter tripped off showing shortcircuit and then later overload. This inverter usually carries it if utility is available but this one it failed wit just the dc, what do I do? Would connecting the panels directly to the inverter help instead of using CC or do i av to get a bigger inverter? Freezer is haier thermocool 200l wit input current at 180watts

either battery capacity is low, battery voltage is low or inverter cannot handle surge current, what is your battery capacity and which type of battery?

it carries it when utility is on, cos inverters have a bypass ability when grid is available, they simply transfer the load to grid...wch includes the surge starting current of the freezer.....now that you are trying to turn on the fridge on battery alone, ..the start up surge is hitting the inverter and it cant carry it....
its not a battery issue

Your inverter simply can't power your 200l freezer. I'm sure your freezer surge will be up to 2000 watts, running watts could be 150w. Best option for the freezer is to upgrade your inverter system.

Would the same thing wit the utility happen if I connect the panel to the inverter straight instead of using a seperate CC?

Hi boss, the inverter is working great. No issue whatsoever.

I'm using it to power my freezer and fridge (not inverters ones), 0.75 interdab submersible pump (during the day), lighting, fans, laptop and other small stuffs. However, I haven't gone over 50% load capacity yet since I've gotten it.

How much did this cost and when did you install so I can factor in inflation.

wudnt change anything.

only way, is if grid/gen is on for a few minutes so start the fridge and then you can turn off the gen. best you sell off the inverter and buy a slightly bigger inverter

A while ago, I spoke of turning off utility charging from August 1, 2023. This is an interim report of my experience so far.

I am at that stage where I need an Energy Storage System.

If are into renewable energy for a while you will sooner or later realize that you cannot run all your loads on the energy that the sun delivers that day ( in other words, your solar panels maybe able to generate way more energy than your loads needs, which is a waste of PV power)

You will also realize that you need to store away generated energy for those days where the weather is not friendly to solar power generation.

This is why you see people spend 3 million on WECO batteries or 9 million on BYD batteries for those who want to buy ready-made systems and for those who want to DIY then they either import cells from China directly or get those from Valto.

An Energy Storage System allows you to talk about days of autonomy aka how many days can my batteries run my loads even if there is no PV production?

While I can charge my batteries in 2 hours of sunshine with my increased PV capacity, I am clearly handicapped when it comes to the ability to run for days on end if there is extreme cloud cover.

This is going to be the focus of my expenditure going forward.

However, I am happy to report that I am spending less on AEDC.

But I have had no choice but to turn on utility charging to augment the low PV production on bad days and the lack of a sufficiently sized ESS.

This is very similar to travelling from Abuja to Lagos by road, for many of us, our vehicles do not have the capacity to run that distance on one tank.

If there is no fuel station on the way, the journey will be forced to come to an abrupt end. But let is say we had an additional tank or tanks or even travelled with say several jerrycans of petrol, that we could guarantee that we could be able to run the distance without ever having to stop along the way or worry if there will be fuel stations that would be open on the way.

Summary of the story: Setting up and running a PV system is not cheap!

The best time to stress test a PV system is during the rainy season

Since we are talking TVs.

I have a modern smart TV without analog audio outputs just digital audio outputs but I have a vintage amplifier.

I want to pump the audio from the TV into the amplifier because I prefer the audio that comes from the amplifier to that coming from the TV.

The issue is that to do that I need a Digital Audio Converter (DAC) to act as a go-between my TV and my amplifier.

If anyone else has this kind of setup which DAC are you using?

Did you get it locally or did you import it?

Trying to determine what works and why before biting the bullet

I finally got this.

Glad I did.

Now I can listen to better stereo than the TV can provide

To Whom iT May Concern

We currently have 30pcs of 220AH Luminous Tubular batteries for sale.

they were used for less than 5-months. Owner hardly around hence they're barely in use, so He wants to sell them since keeping them would affect the batteries.

Price: 100,000 naira per battery.
Battery rated/advertised Capacity: 220AH
Battery Type: Tubular
Manufactuerer: Luminous
Location: Lagos , and for those outside Lagos, wayBill could be arranged.

NB: Only selling batteries, All other things are not for sale

Hello House; am new to this topic and I have been following almost all comments. If anyone can help me, I will like a quote for 50kva solar inverter installation requirements & cost.

Someone recommended I use felicity inverter and lithium battery with it's solar panels. Is this product really the best out there in the market and what's it's durability test based on any experienced user?

Also let me note that the 50kva is for 5 apartments meaning 10kva per apartments. Also what is the expected usage of equipments per apartments running at that 10kva solar inverter power system. Thanks in Advance
