Oga, people that ask why he did not turn anambra to Dubai are people I believe have never ran a business before, people that have not taken over an organisation and turned it around. They are Nigerians that recon development with immediate construction of few roads and bridges. That is the bane of Nigeria and why we are always in debt and problems.
Obi took a debt ridden state, cut expenses ie government excesses, settled outstanding debt while spending on key essentials, health, education, basic key infrastructure while setting aside savings. Basically moving the finances from red to green. As at the time he left, the balance sheet was in green. The only state in Nigeria that was debt free and with saving of over 75 billion in 10 years ago money value. An impossible fit. Then his term expired, if it had continued, you would have seen a state then able to fund major development in a sustainable way without taking loans ie 75b cushion. A sustainable way in that out of 75b, you spend eg 40b on projects, then build the saving back to 75b again before blowing another 40b.
But Ofcourse what happened after his 8 years, a normal Nigerian spendthrift came in, saw the money and blew it in an unsustainable way, built airport, roads etc to turn it to "Dubai" as you say. Where is anambra today? Taking in debt as other states.

As a businessman, do to take over a failing business, then take loans and use megre income to build a new office complex, buy company cars etc or you first cut costs, spend on key improvements, increase your stock, reinvest your profits in more stock, then when the business stabilizes and has a healthy bank balance in green, turning a profit before you then build the new office complex and buy the cars.
That was what Obi did in Anambra.

Obi is not a tax man, that gets a tax ripe state with great potentials, increases revenue, gets easy money, takes a cut and then spends on visible infrastructure while still pilling debt. Then claims he built the place.

It is not exclusive to Obi, you have other Nigerians too eg Akinwumi Ambode, that uncured no debt as governor yet did alot, elemele that built a bank, took over Uba also and turned it around, Adesina with ADB etc.
