You don’t have to like Wike to agree with him on this.

I guess it’s time to stop elevating cows above humans in Nigeria as was obtainable in the last administration.

Nyesom Wike, newly sworn in Federal Capital Territory minister, says open cattle grazing in the capital city will no longer be allowed and Fulani herders will have to take their cows for grazing outside the city centre.

We will consult with the herdsmen and talk to them to see how we will stop, we cannot allow cows inside the city. It can be outside the city. That is the way it should be done,” Mr Wike said.

Because the grasses are outside the city. The grasses are not here. These are grasses we planted to beautify the city. The ones in the area councils are the ones that can eat.

Mr Wike said this during his first media briefing after being sworn in as FCT minister on Monday.

The minister also condemned open grazing in the city centre, saying it does not portray Nigeria well in the face of foreigners who come to Abuja.

In the past eight years, under former President Muhammadu Buhari, Fulani herdsmen engaged their cattle in open grazing within the city centre.

Though it was condemned, Mr Buhari’s regime did nothing about it as herders grazed their cows across the city centre from Jabi district to Asokoro, Maitama to Central Business District, where the State House, National Assembly and Supreme Court are located.

This is not even supposed to be an issue in this 21st century. But then this is Nigeria were cows are considered as 1st class citizens.

No thanks to Buhari's fulani regime.

Any cattle seen roaming around FCT should be killed and fed to prisoners .

You would be walking pass in front of CBN head quarter and be stepping on cow shitt, why?
Re: “No More Cows Grazing In Abuja City Centre.” - Wike by Penguin2(op): 1:03pm On Aug 22, 2023
When we were campaigning against these cows under Buhari, Tinubu supporters called us wailers and IPOB and said cows were free to roam around wherever they liked.

I wonder what they will say now that their personal lord and savoiur has said there will no more be cow grazing in Abuja?

Will open grazing now be bad like we have been campaigning since Buhari period?

Soon him go discover that
Abuja no be Rivers state

I strongly believe Wike will make a difference but needs a strategical approach to achieving that.

Good luck to him in his new portfolio

I totally agree with him on this. Instead of him to be threatening Abuja residents about demolishing houses, he should focus more on bringing social amenities to the poor Nigerians living there.
Wike should be ready to face the battle with Fulani people on this grin grin

Lol...Good one
Let the herdsmen move to Daji or buy a plot of land for grazing. It's the FCT and not daura.

Yep... It's long overdue tbh.

Not just Abuja, but every major city and town in Nigeria.

Load up the damn animals in a truck and take them to their permanent grazing sites.

We have condoned backwardness for too long in this nation.

The DEMOLITION MAN!

When we call Nigeria a ZOO some people will disagree. Imagine Cows still roaming around the FCT in 2023, something that's not supposed to even happen in any city in Nigeria at all.

When will this country ever get anything right sad
