How much was a bag of rice sold under Abdul Salam before PDP ruined it ?! Isokotolopia: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

MTNnews:What a silly comparison. Under Abdulsalam, minimum wage was 700 naira before OBJ increased it to 3000 on assuming office in 1999. In 2003, he increased it to 7500. Meanwhile,a bag of rice was around 1200 then which means minimum wage could not even buy a bag of rice under Abdulsalam but OBJ made minimum wage buy 2 bags at least. Under Jonathan, minimum wage was increased to 18000 while bag of rice was between 8000 and 12000. It was under Buhari that minimum wage was increased to 30,000 while a bag of rice went for between 35,000 to 42000 today. APC is a curse to Nigerians!! 7 Likes |

Ofunaofu:but you forgot bto tell us your PDP depleted voir external reserve from about $45b to$28b despite the boom in our oil sector and over $100 price per barrel of crude oil. A party that failed woefully to build common party secretariat for itself in 16years,how could it have fixed Lagos -Ibadan exp. Way in 16years? 2 Likes |

Ofunaofu:Yes,APC has fixed Lagos-ibadan exp. way that your so called PDP couldn't do. PMB/ APC govt. constructed 2nd Niger bridge which PDP could not do despite the support from Southeast. Is it the railway system that APC brought back to life or the evenly distribution of Sukuk-bond to finance projects in each geopolitical zone? Can you see the remodeling of our airports by APC govt.? If your PDP had saved money during 'plenty', Nigeria would not be in this this mess today. PDP sold oil for over $100 per barrel in its years ,while the price of oil fell to as low as $28 per barrel in 2016 ,an APC era. When you compare available resources,PDP failure is more monumental than APC's 3 Likes |

Isobug: Mine was 13,500 from Margaret Ekpo Intl airport, Calabar to Abuja, with Air Peace. And there was even a bit of scarcity of aviation fuel which raised the fare to that amount. Abi should we even remember when a bag of cement was 750 naira? Omoh! 1 Like 1 Share |

kunle4toyeyaho:PDP met external reserves at just about $1.5bn and over $30bn debt. They grew it to $65bn and left it at $30bn with a total debt of $43bn. APC never grew our foreign reserves. Instead they depleted it to about $13bn and a total debt of $108bn even higher than under the military. 1 Like |

Igbo man does not believe in receiving, he prefer Mak d environment so enabling for him to do his business. But u see Yorubas, just offer them a plate of ewedu and amala u will see dem sing for u or even deny their father bcs of u. Look at how somebody is comparing PDP and APC, I expected a sensible person to keep quiet bcs u can't just compare d two parties at all. Just years ago, things spoiled, all dis useless ewedu eaters are just clapping. Borders closed without any alternative Farmers are no longer going to farm bcs of insecurity Same useless amala and ewedu eaters were hailing dis useless policies. One thing I so much love my brother people is that, u can't see an Igbo guy begging in any cranny of dis Lagos. But just take a walk and see dem "TWALE" IYA DEY BEG, BABA DEY BEG. Kukutenla:PDP never grew external reserve to $65billion, GEJ left it at about $28b, go and do your findings. Do you know there was boom in oil sector during the years of PDP? Do you know that despite the meagre resources APC/PMB govt rescued 27 states through bailout fund, when those states could not pay salaries? Yes,APC's performance was also below expectation but PDP was worse. I stand to be corrected |
Re: We Miss The Good Old Days Of PDP by Kukutenla: 8:22pm On Aug 23, 2023 |
kunle4toyeyaho:September 2008. External reserve was $62.1bn. There was oil boom during PDP years but there was also massive fall in prices. PDP actually meet oil price at $18 in 1999 and it never hit $100 during the OBJ years. It peaked to $133 under yaradua before dropping during the recession. So it's false to claim as if there was oil boom all throughout PDP years. Also note that PDP govt created the excess crude account which had over $2bn when they left in 2015 and is less than $500m now. Also PDP paid off all debt they met on ground and even while they incurred debts afterwards under Jonathan, it did not balloon to what were have under Buhari who took the debts to over $100bn. So there's no way PDP was worse. APC has been a total disaster. More especially when you add inflation, unemployment, poverty and general insecurity. APC is a massive failure
