Labour Party Concern Stakeholders hold meeting in Akwa Ibom; Appoint Key Office Holders (Details)


As part of it's effort in strengthening the Labour Party in Akwa Ibom State,
Concern Stakeholders in the state held it's annual meeting.

In the meeting, the welcome address was read out by the state coordinator, Hon. Isang Udo-Akagha who started by thanking the stakeholders for joining the meeting.
He gave a background of the formation of the CONCERNED STAKEHOLDERS FORUM (CSF).

He informed the house that some concerned members of Labour Party (LP) led by Engr. Gambo Daniel Balarabe took the initiative and formed the forum as an Association with the main focus of strengthening the existing structure of LP, under the leadership of the National Chairman of the party, Barr. (Dr ) Julius Abure. He also informed the house that the forum has been formed in the six (6) geo-political zones of the country as well as the 36 States of Nigeria and the FCT.


The Chairman further informed the house that the CSF totally submits to the authority of the party and that is why the  Party's anthem is sung at the begining of our meetings as a way of declaring our allegiance to LP. He emphasized that the strategy of strengthening the party is by canvasing for people to join the party and become card carrying members at the Ward levels. He urged all stakeholders to encourage and cooperate with their Ward Chairmen in order to achieve the desired result. He further informed the house that the high point of the meeting was election into the offices of State Secretary and Women Leader, as well as nomination of members into the three (3) standing committees namely, Media Committee, Mobilization Committee and Finance Committee

The State Coordinator charged everyone to go for membership drive especially at the Wards and Units

He said that compilation of data of ward chairmen of Labour Party is on-going and the data would be placed online for members and intending members of Labour Party to assess for valid registration.
