Please are suffering here, no job oo if your employer promises you a job, make sure it's certain o or else na street you go sleep o. If you and your family are coming over pls and pls hold plenty money, money that can last your guys for at least 3 months plus before you settle.

No body dey give anybody money for here o the only think they can give is advice and help not money.

If you are couple with no kids, shared apartment will be okay for you budget 600-800£ bills inclusive and depends on location. If you are with children, studio apartments or 1-2 bedroom will be okay but excluding bills. Rent per month arroud 800-1300£ depends on the location. Bill like Gas/Electric, water and council tax maybe around 300-400£ depends on the location.

Furthermore, no house agent would rent a house for anyone just coming in even with your 3-4 month payslip. The best bet any off license shops, you can ask or tell the shop owners that you just came in and have been staying in an Airbnb for like 2-3 months that they should help you with any landlord they know so you can rent. Or better still if you have a relative, brother, etc that has rented their own, they can help you rent yours with their details.

The Sim card they gave you at TLS you can activate it the next day or at the arrival airport. It's free for the first month and next month you get 50% off.

If you are staying in the city, first bus is the best for your mobility. Try using your Google maps to navigate your location. Bus fare 2£ per adult on trip. Day adult tickets is 6£, ticket for group 6 ppl 12£ per day. When you download the first bus App you will see all tickets prices

When you get here, first open monzo bank use your brp under 7 days your day will be delivered to you. It's the card you will use to activate the account. Or you can try Revolt they card for card delivery. Also open any high street bank like Lloyds bank, you will open the account on the web then take your brp to any of their branch for activation. Their card is free and would be sent to your address within 7 days.

Please note: coming down here, money is the most important thing to carry or hold. UK government no send anyone here if not you will suffer.

I will advice carry enough food that will last at least 5-6 months o, this is no joke. Those things you deprive yourself from eating or buying in Nigeria here you will buy it's x2 or x3.

Not that I'm trying to scare anyone, it's my own experience.

Nothing wrong with the route....until nigerians decided to be desperate, allowing themselves to be exploited and wont still keep their mouth shut....u paid ridiculous amount of money willingly yet u are behaving like victim

... imagine someone that paid for job, which is technically ilegal ...and still has mind to ask uk goverment to help them.... is that not witchcraft...

I just hope this won't have a negative effect on visa approval rate. Nigerians just like to act irrationally. You know you did something illegal, yet you are announcing it to the world. That's shamelessness.

I pray they don't block the way for other reasonable people still in the process of application.

Good evening house. My husband got his COS today but his work start date is says April 2023 and the COS duration June- Sept 2023. Also the salary stated is £20480 which doesn't seem to be the going rate. Is that a mistake or something?

Everything is wrong about this CoS, from the dates to the salary. The employer needs to make amendments. I stand to be corrected tho

My dear. Travel ur travel and keep a positive and open mind. Fact is that u must pay ur dues as a newbie. Don’t compare urself with anyone, u can’t skip the process, gold must pass through fire. While u are inside ur shege (u go def see shege) ask questions and be teachable. At the end, with hard work, sense and persistence u will be fine.
I have also noticed that Nigerians don’t like to help their fellow Nigerians and I do t blame them. It’s because of their entitlement, greed and itk attitude. So pls leave that attitude at home. Humble yourself and mix with the right crowd. Information is what will change ur life for the better.

I see that if I put 1 year, it asks for old address which is not applicable to the child because the child has never lived elsewhere.

Yes u are correct...if u have to do a full time(40hrs per week or more) tech job u will need a new COS from a tech employer

But.... you can use ur extra 20hrs to apply for tech jobs...what many pple dont know is that the care visa allows u to do extra 20hrs of care job with another employer or other jobs under the shortage occupation...

Lucky you... the following tech jobs under the shortage occupations list ....


2135 IT business analysts, architects and systems designers

2136 Programmers and software development professionals

2137 Web design and development professionals

2139 Information technology and communications professionals not elsewhere classified – only cyber security specialists..


All together ..the goal is to get something better.....weda u are doing care job or you are a doctor for now.... getting a COS can be hard but if u are good at what u do....its possible to get a tech employer to give u COS

I recently updated my visa as I changed employer, I didn’t upload any supporting document.

If you have lived less than a year in the UK and your employer didn’t tick maintenance in your CoS, then you will have to show financial evidence.

Put the number of years it’s allows. (I think 3yrs ) then explain in the notes. Make sure you don’t forget
