The major reason for coups currently ravaging Africa is due to African leaders over dependence on soldiers.

Nobody should blame corruption because soldiers who commit coups are even worse than the leaders they themselves are displacing.

African governments should diversify their security apparatus and put the Military under civilian control just as it's done in the USA whereby the secretary of army, air force and navies are all civilians and also African leaders need to have good well paid bodyguards and not over dependent on soldiers for security.

Its not what you stated here....it's simply the politicians lack of respect for the people that voted them into power....
Was Nigeria not good economically under Abacha? How can you be practising democracy in Africa and it's dividends are not visible? Instead they loot and steal national treasures meant for development...
I see another coup in chad and Cameroon before december!

Who this one dey call young? I fit even senior you or your elder brother self grin grin grin
What is not clear to you on the statement I made? Was Nigeria not good economically under the Abacha military junta? Even with the way Nigeria is structured and the way the country is plundering towards economic disaster you think a democratic government will fix us now? Something they couldn't do since 1999?
Have you not seen that power lies with the people as in happen in the Arab spring in most north African countries? Anyway dey play!
