NLC are not handling their demand with wisdom. Since you accept fuel subsidy removal, you need to be patient with government to execute her plans.

The governments problem is 3 pronged

1. The purpose of ending the fuel subsidy was to cut not only wasteful spending but one that was clearly no longer affordable.

To provide palliatives, the need to spend arises, partially defeating the purpose of ending the subsidy.

2. Any palliative can turn inflationary which completely defeats the purpose of the palliative in the first place.

3. I sense Tinubu would prefer to savagely cut the size of the federal civil service and pay the remainder a living wage. That is the best step to take but will be resisted. Simply increasing the wages across board is the populist thing today.

If this news is true, then this current crop of NLC leaders are the most useless I have seen in at least 2 decades grin

They can't even get all the other unions together in one accord.

Reason is that the leadership line behind a political party rather than be a pressure group

Nobody should take TUC seriously, no serious body is registered under it. All you see there is association of senior staff bla bla bla. Who needs senior staffs for any serious strike action?

The earlier NLC cut ties with useless TUC the better for them.

Go to their website and check their affiliates, no serious body is registered under them grin

There was a consensus in the last meeting between the NLC and government that they should cussion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.

The federal government has acted giving subsidy to the 36 states, what does NLC want from the government again.

Must they go on strike,?At the long run, strike will kill our economy more. The NLC president's romance with the opposition party is not helping matters too. Now if NLC should go on strike because of minimum wage, who will fight for the pensioners, the unemployed, and the self-employed? Is government policy not affecting everybody?NLC and their selfish demands.
TUC is being reasonable here by not joining.

This Govt came in on the 29th of May and they are expecting overnight turn around when the president is busy thinking and fighting against the rots he met on the ground .. We should be praying for way out and speedy recovery of our long battered economy .Buhari and his team really mismanaged the opportunity we gave them. They will surely account to God one day.

This is the height of self deceit. Tinubu told us PMB was the best thing after slice bread & that he will continue from where he stopped yet u r here talking trash.

God gave u a brain but you used it to vote for Buhari twice and supported APC in 2015 & 2019.. Cry ur cry in peace. Nobody is interested in ur lamentations.
