I want to ask, is it constitutionally right to be paid two separate salaries by the FG? Corpers receive a minimum wage which is the least amount a Government official can be paid. Once you're paid by the FG, you're a civil servant even if it's for a few months or years.

Section 147(6) of the Constitution provides that no person shall be appointed as a Minister of the Government of the Federation, unless he is qualified for election as a member of the House of Representatives. Any person who did not participate in the national youth service, is not qualified to be a member of the House of Representatives.

Stop trying to justify what is wrong. Both by the provisions of the constitution and the NYSC act, she is not supposed to be a serving minister whilst in nysc service.

So if you chose the one for ssce nobody will Ask for your NYSC, if you chose the one for degree definitely you must be Asked for NYSC. Now elective position from councilor to president it's ssce certificate that is required nobody will Ask for your NYSC, appointment as minister or adviser nobody will Ask for your NYSC certificate the requirements is SSCE that is how it's in 1999 constitution. Their is different between assuming and what it's already in the constitution. That is why the constitution gives room for amendment

yes because that office needs degree holder , and she was a graduate meaning she must present her NYSC certificate and which she doesn't have that is why she was rejected. As minister, adviser or any political elective position it's not must for you to bring NYSC certificate. With your SSCE you are good to go according to 1999 constitution

shey you are aware shittu contested for governor under CPC in 2011 so what is wrong if he decides to go and contest again as minister

We are talking about the latest precedent and as at 2018 he was barred by his party APC from contesting as Oyo state governor because of his NYSC or lack thereof which was same reason he was sacked as minister.

party can't barred anyone from contesting, if he likes he can contest in any political party. In fact he is part of 2023 APC campaigns council in Oyo state

APC campaign council is not a public sector appointment.

He can support from the sidelines but he cannot serve in public office without the right qualifications.

The constitution clearly states this and the NYSC act clearly ratifies this.
