Atiku, Obi Head For Supreme Court To Challenge Presidential Tribunal’s Judgment by Thonyb(op): 8:51am On Sep 07, 2023
The aggrieved presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abubakar Atiku and that of the Labour Party, Peter Obi have announced their decision to challenge the Presidential Election Tribunal’s judgments at the Supreme Court.

They made their decisions public on Wednesday shortly after the Tribunal pronounced their petitions dismissed.

In a bid to ensure quick filing of their appeals at the Apex Court, Atiku’s lawyer, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, requested the Tribunal to make a copy of the judgment available to him to enable his client to exercise his right of appeal.

He said that the former Vice President has directed that appeal against the decision be filed immediately.

Uche told newsmen that Atiku got judgment at the Tribunal but did not get justice, hence, his decision to go on appeal.

Similarly, Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, the lead counsel to Obi confirmed that his client had directed that the judgment be challenged at the Supreme Court.

He wondered why the Tribunal which ruled against live telecast of proceedings suddenly allowed live coverage of the judgment.

In response to Atiku’s request, Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani assured that clean copies of the judgment would be released to them on Thursday to enable them proceed on their appeal to the Supreme Court.

I hope Obi avoid spending too kuchoney on this case.

The judiciary is definitely going to favour Tinubu at this moment.....

Everything would've been different if Tinubu wasn't sworn into the seat.

But as the shaky old man is now the president, gaskiya, nothing can be done again.

Well I wish him well, as much as I wish he shouldn't proceed but it's a fight he already started and let him see it to the last.

everything would have been different if obi didn't begin his labour in vain

There was not one outcome that wasn't predicted from the election results to the court decision

To go and do what?

The Supreme Court panel will most likely be headed by the CJN-in-wait: KMO Kekere-Ekun (the same woman Tinubu nominated to the Appeal Court in 2004).

Let's even leave that asides, where in this case do you think the Supreme Court will impeach the judgement of the tribunal. I don't even see it @ all.

These lawyers simply just threw their Principals under the bus for nothing. This should be the easiest tribunal case since 1999.

There is no case here, the opposition made it easy for Tinubu before, during and after the election. The election was won & lost in May 2022.

Let's move on, Period

Why do they want to waste their time at the Supreme Court again?

The Supreme Court will give judgement base on the Evidence tendered at the Tribunal
