It's Official - the African Union Now A Permanent Member of the G20

The AU has been officIally declared a member of the G20, which is now the G21.

Africa, with an annual GDP of 3.2 trillion dollars, and 1.4 billion people, is the 8th largest economy in the world.

It's place on the G20 means Africa is now a major player in international affairs.

Africa will be at the table when international policies that influence the prices of goods and services in Africa are being discussed and determined. She will have veto power. She will have strategic allies for the first time.

It's a very big deal.

It's literally the first time Africa has been at the table of world affairs decision-making in the last 600 years.

As for benefits from the AU, you have a brain, RESEARCH they agenda. Especially that of regional trade integration, and various programs that are increasing intra-African trade. You boost African development by boosting trade between African countries and removing border controls and visa restrictions. All this is going on as we speak.

AU will not come to your house and give you money.

Their job is to develop policies to help improve prosperity on the continent, and they are doing that job.
