You have to understand my concern and why I prefer the current arrangement, it is not as simple as you think, when you get there you would realize why things are the way they are, state autonomy is okay but state police dicey, why is because imagine a state like Ekiti or Enugu, 90% of the police would be Igbo or Yoruba respectively, what do you think would happen let’s say Fulanis try their madness, the police can be abused by states given Nigeria’s ethnic diversity and tension.

Resources control for states would be good, but anything the military, police, federal laws and single federal services once they are not tampered with, I don’t care what anybody does, I also believe that there’s going to be some radical shift especially in 16 years but that won’t impact the Federal structure much.

1. That why rules are put in place.

So long as people respect rules put in place, this is a non-issue.

2. Of course the Fed govt will keep the military and a few agencies and probably a central police, but states will have their own policing systems.

3. Federal laws that will guide the country in its interaction with other nations and between federating states, neverthless, states will have their own laws according to customs, traditions, religions and times they find themselves in.

4. The Fed civil service will continue but a more leaner one. Hopefully, only agencies performing needed functions get retained.

I look forward to seeing the day Nigeria shakes off the current monolithic, snail-paced system. And it seems those days are in sight.
