There is a what’sapp group for Africans student Union in UNSW. There are several Nigerian groups scattered. When you touch base, send me a dm with your Aussie number, I will add you to the UNSW one.

I will be entering Australia in November this year.

Please how do I package my dried food stuffs such as:

vegetables, fish, melon, ogbono, okro, Ukwa (bread fruit), etc.

Can I use the normal transparent zip lock bag?

Please advice.

It should be indurstrially packaged: which is easy to do. Design a label with the company's name, address and contact details, manufacture and expiry date e.t.c print it and place it on the bag. Make sure it does not exceed 500gs. I've heard people's items being thrown out because of weight discrepancies. Remember your products are at the mercy of the custom officer.

Thanks for the response.

FBS:

1- Any city in Australia is a good place to live, it depends on what you like.
Tasmania is an Island and smallest state in Australia - rugged mountains with natural beauty at its finest. see here and here for more info on Tasmania

2. Cost of living is high (in Australia generally) but much lower when compared to places like Sydney (I always think of Sydney as Lagos cheesy)
Again it depends on your family size, your standard of living etc.
Rent from $AUD300 per week

3. Which of the 186 visa steam is it? Direct, Labour or Temporary residence?
Usually with a permanent visa, primary/secondary education should be "free". Childcare/Kindergarten is not.
Medicare appears to be also covered.

4. Can't speak of this one (as I don't know what your husband does) but he who searches shall find. All about giving it your best shot.

Hope that helps.
Can you please help bro?
So basically this family o know; wife is educated(OND) & hubby is a secondary school dropout (mechanic). We were planning UK but it’s tough now. Can such family survive in Australia?

Hello All,

I will be moving to Darwin, NT, Australia by October. Please are there Nigerians in Darwin? Also how easy is it to get casual jobs to pay fees and sustain one there? Lastly, can someone who stay there help with accommodation for few weeks?

Hoping to get some answers

Thanks

Hello friends
I am planning to move to Australia on working holiday visa which requires 18-30 but stated that some countries (not stated) can also apply even up to 35yrs of age and I am 33yrs.

(1) Do I qualify as a Nigerian to apply for this?

(2) Must I use a bank statement which has current such required amount or I can equally use the one that had such amount for months ago?

Thank you very much

Yes.

Major thing would be getting your family to Australia. Once done, the rest will sort itself out.

There is something for everyone in Australia. As I mentioned before, how you get into the country is the major task, he will find a job as a mechanic if he knows his beans.

1 Official price is 35k, you can do it in any police command office nation wide. But you will have to register online and then go to their office for finger thumb print, pls dont go for the manual police character, because most embassy in Abuja are longer accepting it even in foreign affairs incase you want it stamp and sign.
2 i will comfirm the cost of Medical insurance from the company i normally use.
