What is wrong with Ned. As an observant Muslim who is always in the mosque , he should know that compulsory autopsy is against Islamic rules. While it should be optional for unbelievers, it shouldn’t be made compulsory in a majority musim nation like nigeria

Foolish senator. Is it everyone that has money for autopsy?. Your suggestion will only make sense is Nigeria government makes Autopsy to be free of charge to everybody. But that will never happen
You are advertising your business yet making silly comments. Who will hire a writer that cannot even read one or two paragraphs to see that the Senator has proposed that the government will cover the bills?

What's wrong with you?

How many none sudden natural deaths have you witnessed or hear of in Nigeria with the mortality age hovering around 57 for both men and women? undecided

As a matter of fact I hope to introduce a bill that will make it mandatory nation wide for an autopsy to be done within a specific time before anyone is buried and the cost of such reports must be paid by the governments. (Local governments and states)

The bill Will be a nice to have except that the government will not pay for what they'll consider a waste of resources; or a government that cannot guarantee your safety and security to now undertake to finance the autopsy report.

Government paying will mean taxation of the people to cover the cost of such. It is hightime Nigerians stop brushing murder cases under the rug. undecided

The burial isn't befeating for any human. I'm sure he isn't a Muslim so why the haste ? The guy serves Ajinomoto and the burial could have been accorded time to reflect in his death and give him a befitting burial. Even royalty payments could have been used to give him a very good burial. His friends failed him walahai. All those who conducted the burial didn't try at all.

Because say Immediately after death Autopsy will be carried out and body parts will be missing.

Senator Ned, Mandatory autopsy is not our problem, infact I don't know the kind of law makers we have in this country, I think there's something wrong somewhere, how can a sensible lawmaker major on our minors and minor on our majors. People are being killed on a daily basis because of high level of insecurity in the country. People are dying in numbers daily because of hardship and suffering, people are committing suicide because the country has failed them. Only the Rich can afford three square meals daily.
Nigeria as a country is one of the poorest country in the world. No job, no good hospital, no good roads.

Nobody is talking about all these, and a sensible senator will raise a bill for mandatory autopsy for the dead, while the living are dieing in their numbers daily. Will mandatory autopsy bring back the dead to life? What have they done to protect the living so that we don't have further deaths yet some people are praising Ned for presenting a good bill. Oh my country Nigeria who do us this.

Autopsy is expensive and not everyone can afford it, also the Nigerian police at times take advantage of it by compulsorily recommending where to do it at an inflated price so they can gain something out of it

Who will foot the bill? Many preventable untimely deaths are recorded daily in Nigeria, because many could not afford medical care. Where do you want them to get money for autopsy from?

An autopsy doesn't have to be invasive. Please can you help guide me to where it is in the scriptures that an autopsy is against the Islamic doctrine.

So I must do autopsy for my Grand father when he dies at 120yrs.

Autopsy should be done when necessary and not mandatorily.
An autopsy could be as little as the doctor saying "this mam is old anf he died on natural causes" , no one need to cut open. It's a simple déclaration by a medical doctor compiling the facts of death and furnishing the state record with same.

In any country there should be a record of birth and death, in every sane society that is done in every local government. Every town hall has a historical record for that community.

Everything from.crop yields for a given year to weather records , birth death , marriage and land registry.

Before I got married in a church I registered my intention to marry at the local county council and I requested for a replacement marriage certificate from same place.

An autopsy primarily involves cutting open the body and examining the internal organs. That's the only way to establish Cause of Death.

External body examination alone which is contained in most Death Certificates, is not Autopsy. It is based on Assumption & can never be conclusive in establishing Cause of Death.
Hope you know an old man who dies at 120 could have been poisoned to death.

As I implied, not all deaths require an Autopsy. Autopsy costs money, & should only be done when there is suspicion of foul-play by Relatives, Police or the Public. Or out of curiosity to ascertain Cause of Death.

&yes I agree with you, we need proper records of Births, Deaths & other significant events.
