If his story are real...
His family supposed to have gone to the police station with a very good human rights lawyer to perfect his bail... After, his freedom he can now sue the police station and the IPO.

My colleague resumed the office today complaining very bitterly, so we got talking. He said his elder sister got a property somewhere in Lagos, she stayed there with her husband for a while, had a talent before they both traveled out of the country.
The other tenant also, relocated leaving the house empty; since nobody was now managing the property some hoodlums started breaking into the premises to steal properties bit by bit.

One of the hoodlums was caught and arrested, so my colleague’s brother went to the station as the bale was informed of this act. The police asked him some question which he detailed the them as he was standing in for his elder sister who was far away in London, so they took the criminal to the market where he sold those items, unfortunately know was recovered, the stolen items where valued at about N1,9MILLION naira.

The criminal was taken back to the station and apprehended, so my friends brother was asked to come on Saturday 23rd September for further action, he couldn’t make it to the station due to his work so he went to the station on 25th of September, the police arrested him collected his phones and locked him. Arrested and locked him for what?
They didn’t say anything about it, only for the police to inform the family members that he needs to be granted bill with N150, 0000. Is this a joke?
I’m so confused right now, how can you arrest someone who comes to report an issues and even want him to bail himself with naira.

Please advise
If this your colleague is truthful and serious about it. He should look for FPRO (Prince Muyiwa on twitter and either DM him make a post about it and tag him other prominent twitter handles.

Illegality is illegality. Why did he not go to the station on 23rd, and did he infomr the police he wont be available on that day officially? Besides, why should he go to the station that way without his lawyer? Let him get a lawyer to intervene. Police are mindful of real lawyers not charge and bail lawyers or landed property agreement writing lawyers o.

What else can he do? The normal sentence "leave everything for God". Alternatively, he can take his storyline to other social media where the NPF is active and tag them. You may be lucky to get justice then.

The family should get a lawyer, brief him and give him 50k. Once the police see lawyer, the song will change to "it was a mistake."

Also, the lagos state police PRO should be copied via his twitter account.

Those officers will be in troubles

Note: I am not affiliated to any law enforcement agency or whatsoever but I am just someone who knows how to use the internet to contact the right authorities and get justice.

Get a lawyer and charge the matter to court but I strongly believe maybe you have not paid all the money you were asked to pay before mobilization .That 150,000 may be part of money you were ask to paid before they go for the arrest

That they now have the thief in their custody does not mean you won't pay that money or raise false alarm to tarnish their image agreement is agreement.

If they asked you for 170K to start work and you only give them 20,000 first and they were lucky to get the thief that does not mean you won't pay the balance.

Police are corrupt but that have not be so corrupt to the extend you are painting them.

There is no way they will put you in counter when you are the complaints if you are not guilty in your dealings with them
Na wa oh. After paying VAT on practically every item a person buys, paying P.A.Y.E on every naira earned, paying LCDA dues, paying local security dues, paying for tax on TV and radio, paying this and paying that person go still pay police to do their job. Wow. And we wonder why Nigerians are accelerating out of Nigeria for good. The greatest curse of this country is its people. I notice that the closer you get to a fellow Nigerian the closer you get to problems and that is why Nigeria will keep suffering until its people repent.
