Indorama is crude oil dependent
Urea. Crude oil export is different. If you use urea to fertilise the cashew tree then by extension, it is crude oil dependent too.

The poster of this thread is a political jobbers and apc - tinubu lickazz, not everyone can be gullible to be deceived by him

But let's enlighten

What's the benefit of exporting needed raw material only to buy the resulting processed product from it

How many foreign countries export raw materials?

The oil gotten from cashew nuts are supposed to be processed on nigeria and only the excess exported

Nigeria keep exporting crude oil and buying refined products

What has been the benefits

Fixed. Thank you very much for the correction. I never stated that the earning is poor for a monthly export revenue, I just believe that they can always improve. In life, the top is not crowded, only the bottom of the pyramid is crowded. Regards.

How can they change their mentality on imports? Policies in the country isn't favorable for production. Cost of production will cripple both buyers and sellers. If the govt wants to encourage local production let them stop lip service and put up measures, palliatives and incentives to encourage local production. It is cheaper to import than produce in this country despite the fact that we have all the raw materials
maybe alien make those policies , not the Nigerian citizen, you're talking about it like we the citizen are not behind the horrible policy

you know nothing about economics. Ever asked yourself why the naira keep falling. The over reliance on import is killing our economy. We need to start producing, be it farming or otherwise else we are doomed and heading the way of Zimbabwe

Yes but since d technique is not working then let them open the borders bro...

When d border was open during Jonathans regimen food didn't skyrocket and yet ask yourself now that we want to product are our production enough for Nigerians??

Is it adequate yet??

Or.enough yet to feed 200million people 😳
Re: Five Top Exporters Earn $22m In Two Months – CBN by banku: 1:51pm On Sep 30, 2023
There are some good encouraging contributors here. Please do not be distracted. These companies need to do more to increase production.

On the other hand are distractions that have never seen anything good about Nigeria EXCEPT when they are in power. Even then, Nigeria and their base fell further into abject poverty.

A couple still preach open borders to import junks that killed Nigeria. It is Government, government and government that did not do this or that. Yet, our cement moguls from every region in Nigeria, go to less developed African countries, buy jungles to establish plants and factories.

They provide their own infrastructure for their plants. Yet, sell their goods less than they do in Nigeria !

Stop giving excuses why you cannot and start acting on what you can. Make a difference from your villages, towns and states.

When you spend all day on Nairaland with your negative mindset , insulting everyone including the leaders and the land till it withheld its blessings from you and you fail to meet the right set of people who can teach you the right legitimate way to go about it, everything will remain hard for you nah.

There's a Korean proverb that if you see nail in every issue presented to you, instead of using your brain to solve it, you will be looking for hammer.

There's no where in the world where entrepreneurs find it easy so stop deceiving yourself. It's very very hard and that's why most people don't take the Entrepreneurial journey. Export business is particularly hard everywhere in the world!

The Founder of one of those 5 companies is a Nigerian like you, he did not even go to school like you! Yet, he started learning commodities traidng in his late teens and early 20s in the old western region then proceeded to farming and buying cocoa beans then exporting overseas, he is in his 80s 0r 90s today and still Chairman of the company. Behind his success is about 60 active years of intense hardwork and positive mindset. Today, one of his Children, who are very well educated, is the CEO of the company. The company he founded in his 20s is today the highest indigenous non oil forex earner. That's powerful. What then is your own excuse? Social media entertainment and cyberbullying addiction? Smh

Quit decieving yourself. Business is hard everywhere in the world and Nigeria is no exception.

Below is a short video of an American entrepreneur swearing in a court deposition and you can see him admit he has problems and how stressed he is. Entrepreneurship is for the bold and positive minded who are teachable too.

Exactly, start small and grow is not encouraged . They authorities bring stiff regulations that will make it impossible for u to start any small production.
tommy589:

You are right. Not only the cost of production alone, even govt. regulatory agencies have placed higher bars to meet before establishing small scale production outfit. Unlike how it was in the past

It's good to certify the environment for production. But it becomes restrictive when you have an idea with little money to start with, and you are expected to have certain workforce and space, running to multiple times of money available before you start production.

Start small and grow big is no longer possible

You don't know that the real damage was done by Tinubu with the unification of the FX rate, you don't unify the rates when you still have fx demand outstripping supply by 10 to 1. That was the reason miffy kept the rates pegged at 400. Also the naira redesign was to help mop up that excess Naira in circulation that was causing the inflationary pressure on the naira. But then APC politicians and their comment caused the uncertainty that led to the fiasco of that redesign policy.

Oga stop trying to spin around what I am saying. The man FreeStuffsNG knows where I am pinting at. He ended his post by stating that all the industries that are top exporters are in the south west which is a lie because indorama is in the south south. you clearly said the companies are all based in south-west which is a big lie because indorama eleme is based in eleme PHC. also the other company is a subsidiary of Olam. if you don't knownhow export works know that those companies do not have the landmass to generate such agricultural output that would warrant such forex. they have subsidiaries in almost all states of Nigeria and they receive produce from farmers which they export. they are strictly into exporting of agricultural products not production. so basically props should go to all Nigerian farmers working hard despite obvious harsh economy precipitated by your president tinubu
