Yes, nigeria is a very poor county when looked at as a whole. But lets say for example 75 percent is extremely poor, 15 percent is lower middle income 7 percent is higher middle income and 3 percent is wealthy.That 10 percent of middle income and wealthy nigerians is over 20 million people, thats almost half your countrys population, This group of people making over 100K USD per year and above need holidays, and they are spending. Go check morroco, qatar, tunis, egypt seychelles, etc nigerian genuine tourist who come for a few days and spend alot of tourist dollars. I know for example 5 of my female cousins from SE formed a travel group and leave nigeria every 3 or 4 months to a location they can easily travel to for holiday, their christmas holiday is booked to tanzania. SA could be benefiting from these tourist groups. Your visa process should be made very easy for people of a certain income bracket, you only need about 0,1 percent of this 20million nigerians to shake up your countries tourism industry. Your country is seen from not a Top point of view for eu and american tourist because of security issues, but fellow africans would look past those issues.

A few years ago in South Asia, while I was out partying in a pub, I was literally the only black guy there and the security guys brought this Xhosa SA girl to me to tell me she had consumed a lot and was unable to pay for the drinks, She claimed she came with a local who asked her to take whatever she wanted but the guy went to the toilet and never came back. I was asked to pay for the girls drinks or the police would be called and she would be jailed. I did. When I was leaving she told me also had no transport to go home, and even her rent was expired, she was about to be thrown out, she had no where to go, her date was her last hope. I told her I would investigate her claims and let know. I did and she wasnt lying, she was working for a school through an agent who 30 percent of her very poor salary. And literaaly could barely make it every month. I got her a new job at my yankee friends international school, then paid her house rent for 2 months with the deposit. I always used to invite her to eat out with my wife and kids, and everytime even though she was a big fan of Nollywood, she never stopped venting out about how much she didnt trust nigerians. The irony is, I never told her I was nigerian, only talked about my eu passport.

And most nigerians in the diaspora will not want to travel to any country that disrespects nigerians, Im one of them.

You guys need to change this archaic mindset. Here in Nigeria, nobody discriminates and in fact, we consider every black person we see as Nigerian. Nobody has the ample time to start looking for who is Nigerian and who is not.
We don’t even disturb other nationals for their travel documents once they’ve crossed our borders.

There are around 500 thousand Nigerians in UK. We have not heard of any bad reputation there. They go to school, work as professionals, keep their noses clean. About 600 thousand NIGERIANs in U.S. no major scandals or bad reputation.

met one yesterday,I didn't even know and I noticed Nigerians careless about where the person comes from....as far as they are concerned everyone is a Nigerian first.

I'm even frnds with most of them. That's how i got to knw that a part of Cameroon (anglophone) speaks english. They speak very sound nd well pronounced english. Some are even teaching in some of our private schools. Nobody even care to knw where they"re frm because we all classify them as Nigerians. We're truly the giant of Africa for a reason. No wonder most of them are jealous of Nigeria. Naturally we're risk takers.
