yes it might end in his second term, but the most important thing is that he started early, and if enough commitment is given towards it, it will end up being his signature project

We're did he get the funds from? ... China?... World Bank?... settlement from illegal mining? He should say and the terms of repayment if loans. No doubt ... road construction is critical for development.

did ugwuanyi actually construct rural roads in other parts of enugu?

Reminds me of Greater Port Harcourt City and Eko Atlantic city. 2 decades later none has seen the light of day and this one is talking about 24 months. Only China can build a city in 2 years.

New Owerri wasn't built in 10 years. It took more than 30 years to actually become inhabited to this level and remains uncompleted till date. The railway line hasn't even been started after 45 years . Only Abuja has actually worked as a planned city from 1960 till date.

@nlfpmod Anambra, Abia and Enugu states seems to have gotten it right.

The immediate past governors of Enugu and Abia are bunch of criminals.

I have my reservation over Gov Mba because of the circumstances surrounding his emergence as governor, but the guy seems committed to good governance and is trailing governor Alex Otti.
Soludo is doing exceptionally well, though he talks too much, he's taking moulding Anambra into not just a business state, but an economic and social hub.

Hope Ozidimma? Imolites shouldn't allow that man return to power.

Ebonyi? Nwifuru is something I'm yet to understand his direction. He looks like an administrator elected to pay salary.
I'm yet to see anyone to beat Dave Umahi's impact in Ebonyi state.

24 months for a functional new Enugu city? In this New City, as it is promised and I quote: “…we are going to have a dedicated power project, a central sewage system, high speed internet, and there is hardly anything you will find in any modern smart city that you will not find in this City.”

I guess he meant basic amenities even though 24 months is still little for that. Plus I always have my reservation,on some of this city projects as they usually promised one thing but ended up delivering an estate at best with a little serenity and uncultured greenery.

24 months is around the corner, so fingers crossed.


PS: Lest I forget, that picture ain't the reflection of even the governor's expectation but just render to project a good society to emulate.

In the literal sense, many able states should consider abandoning the junk yards that currently pass for capital cites and create new planned cities on virgin land. Might end up costing less than if they continue trying to fix things by shoveling bandage money into ditches, crumbling roads, higgledy-piggledy placed buildings and the hovels people now call homes and defend from being taken down by wailing and shouting to America and UN.
