I wonder why God made space so large. Space is unimaginably huge.
Never mind those illustrations of our solar system, the planets are REALLY REALLY RE-ALLY far apart.

The distance between Planet Neptune and the Sun is 4.5bn kilometers. (Neptune is the last planet). The distance between the Sun and the very edge of our solar system - the Heliopause, where our sun's influence ends is 18bn kilometers.


Our galaxy is 100,000 light years in diameter. A light year is 946073047258080128 kilometers. Multiply that by 100,000. (I dare your calculator). It will take 155 million years to cross our galaxy with our fastest spacecraft. And our galaxy is one of the smallests. It contains anywhere between 100bn to 400bn suns. (Suns are what we call stars). Estimated number of people who have ever been born is 117bn. That means each of us can be gifted 1-3 suns. Imagine the energy potential. It's estimated our sun will begin to die 4.5bn years from now. Could be more. It's actually a thermonuclear reactor. It's been burning fuel for 4.6bn years.

So why did God create these huge things? Is he showing off his greatness, or is it that he's just incapable of thinking small? Or maybe he's just conducting a large scale experiment. For all we know the universe may just be a lab! Let's hear your thoughts.

They needed a monument for which they would never be dispersed on the face of the earth against instructions from God to fill the earth
