President exercised the powers conferred on him as established in Section 3(6) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Jigawa State, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, as the new Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Also appointed as the Secretary for the commission is Clifford Okwudiri Oparaodu, the Presidency announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said the appointment is in exercise of the President’s powers conferred on him as established in Section 3(6) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

The appointment, he stated, is “in furtherance of the Renewed Hope mandate to reform key institutions and invigorate Nigeria’s war on corruption.”
He said it is subject to the approval of the Nigerian Senate.

Congratulations to Dr. Musa Aliyu and Clifford Okwudiri Oparaodu.

President Tinubu is a nationalist who understands the need to carry every region along in his government. All his recent appointments are more balanced and he hats how it will be till the end of his tenure.
