Many of us grew up with the knowledge that Hausa people are very trustworthy, i.e. they won't cheat you or try to take advantage of you in business or anything.

Is this still true as of today given the increasing influx of Hausas to southern Nigerian and getting corrupted in the process.

It is still 100% true.

And the funniest part of it is that poor northern Muslims are even more trustworthy than the rich ones. The poorer they are, the more honest and trustworthy they are.

Even though you can also count on the rich ones to not cheat you.

As for southern Christians, just about everyone is dishonest and ready to cheat you, INCLUDING YOUR OWN PARENTS. Their morals are in the gutter.

Being trustworthy is a personal value, not a tribal thing. Most northerners you consider trustworthy are so because they haven't been tested yet. Yes, they haven't been exposed to offices where they are totally in charge of and nobody to checkmate their activities. This is where test comes in. Exposure to power and money changes people.

This explains why their political class isn't different from that in the South. Nigeria is one corrupt country and it has nothing to do with tribe. The best way to control corruption is by having systems that prevent it from happening, not hoping that a tribe is more trustworthy than others.

There are factors one has to put into consideration before coming out to say who's more trustworthy
North has being ruling Nigeria for years and yet everyday we keep hearing billions of naira missing
D poor hausa that hv never tasted money and hv not gotten exposure is more trustworthy than southern counterpart.
Before u conclude on who's more trustworthy, u hv to separate northern rich men and southern richmen.
