Obj has once told Tinubu he can't Achieve this refinery thing because he had tried it and it can never work due to this reasons u stated here

Eriokanmi:
That's the problem...government holding a controlling share in oil firms. This was what happened to nitel until OBJ came and privatised it. Nitel was never efficient. We got our line for a huge sum through the eye of the needle in the early 90s yet, no improvement. Bills were always crazy. You'd hear an answering machine when you dialed to make an important call...you'd hear nitel special service information, the line you dialled is blablabla.

After privatisation of nitel, corruption fizzled and the federal government were making 5 times what they used to earn in revenue when nitel was still there. Gsm had also created employment to millions over the years. Someone like Slot and PTV would have still been fixing faulty laptop at computer Village today, had nitel not been privatised, which gave room for competition in the telecoms sector.

The same way nitel found it hard to declare profit back then, nnpc will never find it easy to declare profit until its privatised. The corruption in that sector is too much. Nnpc's account hasn't been audited in years yet, they call it NNPC Limited grin. Nigeria is the the most patient country on earth walai. In another country, all our corrupt leaders would either have been long forgotten by now or run to exile and never come back again.

In those days as an undergraduate, an engineer at nitel bought a toyota condor, tear rubber for her daughter who was my course mate on her wedding day...just an engineer. Same is happening in nnpc today and until that corporation is either scrapped or truly privatised, we're just deceiving ourselves in Nigeria. Tinubu knows what to do but he'd never do anything meaningful cos he's got no balls to challenge the powers that be. How would they earn revenues from their vessels taking crude abroad and bringing refined Petroleum products into the country? Their business would just be crippled.

When we were rooting for an independent candidate, someone who can step on their toes and nothing wouid be done or held against him cos he doesn't belong to their clique, they were calling us names. They went the tribal routes and played dirty. We will still learn but time isn't ripe yet.

Imagine one of the world's largest producers of crude oil resorting to importation simply because corruption has made it impossible for them to meet their daily target of crude oil production.

I read somewhere that NNPC would sell crude oil to dangote in naira. So what's this issue of importing of crude we're hearing?

These people are just looking for an excuse to sell their fuel expensive when their refineries kicks off.
Nothing but the truth. They have taking us as fools. Simply because Nigerians don't react to anything according to Rotimi Amaechi

Well ..una Buhari and Tinubu have taken loans into the future against current products grin grin. Plain and simple , they have signed contracts against loans they will waste on bullet proof cars and we have to supply crude for those loans starting from buhari period till God knows when

Very stupid and greedy set of people. All they are planning is how to exploit Nigerian. See the way they are stating as if they will truly import crude from other countries. They we bring in 100 barrels and they will now channel local crude oil as imported crude just for them to be selling refined fuel with dollars.... Nah Aboki go destruct the country las las with the help of Yorubas... Imagine the day light robbery they are planning., even when we all know that 90% of the capital used in building the so called private refinery is still Nigerian money stollen by greedy politicians

Look guys, this country is just a huge scam. There are forces hellbent on ensuring that the country doesn't work. Before, they were crying that there was no market for the crude being generated. Now that it appears as if they can't stop the refineries from working, crude oil is suddenly not available. We need to break off from the North before we can have progress.

Venezuela doesn't have oil to export to Nigeria. I am well informed about the global crude oil supply chain.American companies are reluctant to return back to Venezuela.Even if American oil companies return agree to return return back, its going to take more a year to restart production there.

The main issue besides embargo on Venezuela is: Should a major oil producing member country of OPEC be importing crude from anywhere?

A good excuse to keep the price high! This is one of the reasons why privatization schemes are bad for Nigerians! But then nationalization schemes too yield the same results. The Nigerian elites are too greedy and just don’t care about the masses! Ordinary people need to change their mentality of wanting everything they advertise to you as prosperity… it’s a propaganda that has the hands of businessmen, politicians and pastors in it! Learn to live a minimalist lifestyle, be sure to need anything that comes from these only in absolute necessity… that’s the only way you’ll be free from the shackles of these demons!
