Coalition Of Ngos Call For Suspension, Investigation Of Ajaero Over Imo Crisis by bamideleafolabi(op): 3:03pm On Nov 09, 2023
A coalition of NGOs led by Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch  in Nigeria has raised an alarm over the activities of NCL President, Ajaero as it poses a grave threat to democracy in Nigeria. Addressing a crowded press conference in Abuja today, the coalition of society groups  led by Ambassador Splendour Agbonkpolor called for the overhauling of the leadership of the NLC to purge the union of 'questionable elements who are trying to bring the labour union into disrepute by being politically induced to cause crisis during the forthcoming election. The also called for the suspension of Ajaero and that he should be investigated by the Police, DSS and other security agencies.

According to the coalition of NGOs,

"Following the series of ugly political events, lawlessness in Imo State as result of the poorly stage managed NLC protest by the Comrade Ajaero, have necessitated us to address this world press conference in order to set the records straight.

They also claimed that "events of the last one week that nearly snowballed into a breakdown of law and order in Imo State, is very disturbing and worrisome.
Recall that on the 2nd of November 2023, the partisan labour leader Comrade Ajaero went on a berserk expedition, calling out law abiding Imo Workers for a wild protest to invoke a security breach, which means that Ajearo has missed the track and is taking the laws into his hands and as such should be tamed not to further cause pandemonium in Imo state during the election."
According to the group, 'let it be on record that Comrade Ajaero led NLC have now become a political arm of the Labor Party ready to blackmail, arm-twist and rain puerile machinations to disrupt the forthcoming democratic election in Imo State, Ajearo has no right to stop the good people of Imo State from exercising their franchise, which is their inalienable right under democratic governance'.
They also noted that Ajaero in connivance with his shenanigans are ready to dance the macabre dance, their stock in trade is to blackmail the government and score cheap political points.  It is based on this that they argued that it is high time the union suspended Ajaero in order to 'restore the confidence of ordinary Nigerians who see labour unionism as a struggle for the enforcement of workers’ rights and entitlement.'

Who are these political misfits and who gave them a platform for press conferences?

The NLC President is greater in the hierarchy than the US Ambassador. If they can't do the same to US and European Ambassadors, it is foolish and arrogant to think that NLC has no mechanism to address impropriety in her leadership.

Mumü NGOs. Bunch of money launderers. Most Nigerian NGOs are organs of money laundering for politicians.

If he's beating by the police, what's stopping him from suing the police to court?

Yes I am okay. It's you that does not know that Nigerians do sue the NPF that needs to ask yourself the question again.

If he's going through the lawless route, he can never defeat the government.
