Have you considered that the buying rate differs from the selling rate? In Nigeria, a significant portion of businesses heavily rely on dollars for procurement. Typically, more people buy dollars than sell them on a regular day, excluding any potential hoarding. So, what exactly are you saying bro?

The speculation that drove the dollar to N1,300 last week is the same speculation that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is leveraging to bring it down. By injecting a few bucks into the peer-to-peer (P2P) space, the value of USDT decreases slightly. When coupled with propaganda inducing panic, everyone rushes to sell, resulting in a surplus of supply over demand and a subsequent drop in price.

However, despite these fluctuations, businesses still require dollars that commercial banks are unable to fully provide. Let's not forget, emotions aside, that during the last election primaries, politicians didn't spend a single naira. They only converted money to naira when they needed to grease the palms of their puppets.

While these politicians may be a minority, they exert control over roughly 80% of the country's wealth and finances. Interestingly, they tend to hold their wealth in USD and USDT. The amount of USD/USDT in the hands of the general populace pales in comparison to the reserves amassed by these individuals in their vaults and wallets. It's quite amusing to think that this relatively small portion of foreign exchange could significantly impact the market over an extended period.

Regardless of any policies that may be implemented, until these influential figures decide to sell their dollars, nothing substantial is likely to change, my friend. So just rest bro.

After he import the oil...who will buy the oil ?

Shey be na NIGERIA

Aliko Dangote will get paid by Nigeria, that same money will still be pumped into the system.

Because Dangote major market for his business is Nigeria, so large chunk of the money NIGERIA will be paying Dangote will still be pumped back to the economy.

So even if Dangote brings his oil from Russia or Gaza... Na still Nigeria go buy, oil consumption in naija is the biggest in Africa.

Do you understand now Mr man ?
Replace "refinery" with "cement" and tell me how the consumption of made in Nigeria cement has positively impacted on exchange rate. You may want to use any other made in Nigeria product. Refinery abi fuel won't be different.
You think he'll source his most needed equipment and spares with naira or pay the hundreds of expatriates with naira.

I disagree with you, the naira will strengthen more against the dollar

Dangote will get 6 million barrels of crude from the NNPCL in December.
