Panic as Stroke, BP, diabetes kill 39 Road safety Officers in 3 months

No fewer than 39 officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps have died of stroke, Blood Pressure , diabetes , cancer and other diseases within three months

This was contained in an internal memo of the organisation obtained by our correspondent.

As a consequence, the Corps Marshal has directed Commanding Officers as follows: All Zonal Doctors and Medical Officers should visit Commands under their purview for sensitization. Utilizing Medical personnel among Special Marshals and government Hospitals in their domain for awareness creation.

The memo reads:

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF STAFF DEATH 2022/2023 THIRD QUARTER:

Ref: A. FRSC/HQ/AHR/542/VOL.111/022 dated 6th October, 2023.
B. Corps Marshal Minute quoted references A and B are dated in respect 9th October, of the above 2023.subject.

2. Management is dismayed by the outcome of the Comparative analysis of Staff death for the third quarter, 2022/2023 conducted by the Department of Admin and Human Resources.
3. The analysis indicated that a total of Nineteen (19) Officers and Twenty (20) Marshals died during the period under review due to Cardiac problems, Stroke, High blood pressure, Liver related problems, Cancers and Diabetes.
4. Consequent upon the above Corps Marshal has directed Commanding Officers as follows:
a. All Zonal Doctors and Medical Officers should visit Commands under their purview for sensitization.
b. Utilizing Medical personnel among Special Marshals and government Hospitals in their domain for awareness creation.
