The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje says the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf who was stacked by the Appeal Court on Friday would still suffer defeat at the Supreme Court.

The immediate past governor of Kano State made the remark while addressing newsmen at his Abuja residence in Asokoro.

.ng recalls that the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja on Friday upheld the verdict of the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which earlier nullified the election of Governor Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.

The court declared that the APC candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, was the true winner of the March 18 governorship election in Kano.

Delivering judgment on the appeal filed by Governor Yusuf, the three-member panel led by Justice M.A Adumeh held that the NNPP candidate was not qualified to contest the election, stating that he was not a registered member of the party as of when the election was conducted.

The governor, while reacting to the Appeal Court verdict, expressed optimism that he would reclaim his victory at the apex court.

But Ganduje, who was elated by the Appeal Court ruling, vowed that the APC candidate would still win at the Supreme Court.

He said, “I thank Allah for this important judgment. We have to thank the judiciary for providing a good administration of justice despite all the distractions that have taken place since the beginning of the case.

“There is no doubt this is a victory for democracy. It is a victory for APC and a victory for Kano State.

“This is an indication that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.

“But in all, probably they will go to the Supreme Court which is part of democracy. There is nothing wrong for them to go to the Supreme Court. We, too, are ready to meet them in the Supreme Court. And Inshallah, we will win in the Supreme Court as well.”

Lol Yousuf really messed up with the demolition of structures as his first act. Now the people don't even care whether he reclaims his mandate or not.. and yes he'd still lose at the supreme court. Abba Yusuf is done but he doesn't want to accept the reality yet. It's only a matter of time tho. Mumu short-lived Governor.

Even if the court wants to be sympathetic to his course, it is absolutely impossible. Yusuf made enemies for himself by starting on a bad note, if you have issues with Ganduje, must you destroy what he used the state's resources to build?
A lot of Kano residents are unhappy and some of these judges are from Kano or have their tentacles spread around

Instead of him to quickly endear himself to the hearts of people that were firmly behind him and sang his song for years.

Believe me. Majority of the populace, willingly sang, prayed for him for YEARS. Danced and jubilated when he won.

The fool practically campaigned against himself by making people cry, taking their livelihoods. He empowered Hisbah that's been terrorizing youth everywhere in town.

Now, masses aren't sympathetic to his plight anymore. They are indifferent. In just a few months, the imb3cile lost his goodwill.

That Yusuf is not a registered member of NNPP is a party affair (as said by other judges and justices in different elections judgement) and pre-election matter why is kano different

Anyway the guy really fumbled big time by demolishing people’s houses

Can you substantiate this irresponsible statement when DSS invites you for questioning? Is it not the same Judiciary under APC that handed over Bayelsa to PDP in 2019 even after APC had won? Is it not the same Judiciary that nullified all elections won by APC in Zamfara in 2019?
