Honestly, i feel like if we require politicians to be university graduates before they apply for any governmental office, we also need to make sure the people voting for them too also have to have at least a WAEC cert, because an illiterate/ignorant majority is more dangerous than.......
People fought and died for universal suffrage before it was a thing and you want to take us back because you've a privileged waec certificate? Come on

What the heck? What is IGP ordering them for, isn't that supposed to be automatic? As far as I know, NPF is on IPPIS and as such once retirement age is attained by whatever means, the staff in question shall be automatically yanked off the system.
Police on IPPIS is hogwash, they have their separate payment platform, the Accountant General office are not sincere, Police pay their personnel from their own payment software against FG directives.

I still wonder why they ask civil servants to retire at about 65yrs yet allow people over 70yrs to vie for political offices. This has to stop.
Everyone should retire at about 65yrs to give room for younger ones. If at 65 you are no longer fit to work as a civil servant, you shouldn't be fit enough to work as a governor or senator or president.
Seriously that is how it should be, but the lord's work of acquiring wealth for their children and unborn generations started at 65yrs to 70yrs. I hate the 8years settings electorates have to use, 4years to 5years single term is enough to make a difference. 8years is too much, it is a chance for them to loot and reloot

Why would people want to continue working when they have approached the statutory retirement age?

The answer is that everyone is scared that you won't get your retirement benefits. Income shuts down. Except if you are steal (pun intended) on the table.

My late mother retired from Kwara State Education Board in 2014 after 30 solid years, she passed in 2016 and up till today, her retirement benefits have never been paid.

Anyone that has hope in Nigeria getting better should be studied as a University degree.

This is sad, I have met men in their 80s&90s who lament how they have served in the Nigeria army and how their entitlement have not been paid after serving for 35years. 3months to retirement, their pensions and entitlement should have be packaged and release to them. And u want this man to be honest in discharging their duty. Teachers, farmers,Police and public civil servants have suffered in this country. the future is not bright and the future has been blinking since 1960s

Is it that police does not have a data bank for their staff?
Every police officer due for retirement suppose to have been given retirement notice three months ago to proceed on terminal leave. Which one is writing of retirement letter again?

This age fraud or adjustable service years put in the service of the Nigeria Police is very common among officers from NORTHERN NIGERIA !

Nobody check them in the northern part of Nigeria.

Northerners survive on Federal ! Federal !

most of them will be retiring with less than 50k in their accounts. The same mofos that don't think twice when they're asked to open fire at peaceful protesters who are protesting a better welfare for them.

I don't pity any legally armed man. They're fools with guns
when A CSP told me that her retirement entitlement is not upto 5M, I shake my head and I was shocked. I understand why they are so greedy, don't joke with money, like cases, roger this &that and even chop rank and file money. The system has been like that from the very beginning, hope the new cadets and educated ones among the force personnel will change the system to a noble cause

Because of too many fake age and change of name/age over the years.
Life expectancy in 9ja must be a bit high but for people using football age.

Some workers sef don't know which age they wrote down again. grin cheesy

Even govt don't keep good records, with ministries burning down every now and then.

One of the cures of our leadership crisis. Mass illiterate voters keep dumping criminals on a few educated ones. Very sad situation.

They obviously don't have that, that's why they are requesting for voluntary retirement. This should not be voluntary. Once you attain a particular year anniversary or due for other benefits where I work, you don't need to remember HR. You would get an automatic mail.

In Nigeria people tamper with their records In order to extend their years In service .
In developed countries people wish they can retire early.
When shall we get there?
