Police vs. Pro-Palestine Protesters in Kaduna: Nigerian Police Flee as Clash Escalates.


Police fired shots to disperse pro-Palestine protesters in Kaduna during a clash that erupted on Thursday between Nigeria’s police and members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).

The police claim that the IMN fired at them, resulting in a civilian casualty, while the IMN alleges that two of their members were killed by the police.

According to the demonstrators, they were expressing support for Palestine and marched to submit a protest letter to the National Human Rights Commission.

However, an exchange of gunshots promptly led to the police fleeing the scene. In a video circulating online, Nigerian police could be seen fleeing as gunshots were heard.

It's worth noting that in July 2019, the Federal Government obtained a court order to proscribe the Shiites’ organization, also known as the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.
