I was about to post a thread asking if other people are experiencing a new low in electricity supply. Now, this. Please, efeteb, can you just ask this as a general question while giving Warri case as your contribution? Then, ask Nlfpmod to look into it. 1 Like |

OVB123:I think it's common in localities where most consumers are still on estimated billings. Those areas are prone to high electricity theft so the Discos try to cut their loses until the metering of most consumers there is completed. In Lagos, the places with prepaid metres hardly have power outages because the Disco know how much they will lose for not supplying electricity and they can't give estimated billings to the consumers. Public electricity supply is now really great and with almost 24 hr steady uninterrupted supply for months but I am not sure it will be possible for places on estimated billings and high electricity theft. I believe your leaders know this major problem and it's more likely going to be because most consumers may not be cooperating or willing to cooperate to pay the real value for electricity. If they don't want to pay then the Disco may prioritize consumers willing to pay so that they will not run into serious debt and bankruptcy from failure to pay back bank loans. |

FreeStuffsNG:Obtaining a prepaid meter is not easy though, and when you finally get one you still have it loaded with bills to settle. There is alot of fraud going on in the power sector, it may be worse with bedc. |

We had power in my layout last week but that was it. Effurun/Ekpan down to Jeddo and even Osubi haven't had power for almost a week now. Painful thing is that Bedc isn't saying anything. |
