Watinhapen:Useless State, Mumu people, nothing to show, you are 100% correct. Emmanuel Uduaghan should just be leaving prison, after spending 5 years, with suspended 8 years for good behavior, Ifeanyi Okowa should be bargaining his own plea deal of for a reduced prison sentence. |

The issue is, why is it that the States getting this chunk of fund from FAAC thirteen percent derivation inclusive, her peollple are living in abject penury? Akwa-Ibomites are known for menial jobs in Portharcourt while Bayelsans are for petty fish farming. NB: I did not intent to cajole any part please. |

I knew one disgruntled element with zero contribution to national development would sneak in this old narrative, go and find out dude, Nigeria is generating more revenue from taxes more than from oil presently! Beside apart from a lil exploration from imo and Edo accounting for less than 2% of it, Anambra and Abia are yet to contribute a single drop of crude to national coffers! Go and find out!!! SoNature:Check the production in those states first before you come and start whipping up sentiment here. None of those states produce any meaningful volume. 95%of our crude comes from Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa. https://www.thevaluechainng.com/list-of-states-in-nigeria-with-the-highest-production-of-crude-oil/ None of those states are even in the Niger Delta. |

| Re: States FAAC From January To August by Housing(m): 8:36am On Nov 22, 2023 |
SoNature:Stop spreading misinformation, in the last two years tax revenue had been more than crude oil earnings. Moreover, the FAAC is calculated based on revenue generated, population and equity. Some of those States actually have higher FAAC allocation but lesser FAAC allocation received due to external debts. Federal Government always deduct external debts commitment by each States before remittance of it's FAAC allocation due. E.g Ogun State and Lagos State |

SoNature:It's not about being scammed or not. It's about the local government in each state. Most of these states you mentioned have more LG's than the other ones and are more populated than others. A state that has 33 LG won't receive the same with a state that has 20LG's. |

SoNature:Crude does not account for 85% of govt earnings. It constitutes the major source of forex not overall revenue. The majority of govt revenue comes from customs duty, company tax and Vat. VAT alone was 1/3rd of FAAC allocation in September for example. If oil production is low, and the cost of production goes up then revenue from oil will go down and oil producing states will not get as much as they previously did. It will surprise you that because oil production has fallen so much some of the states you mention bring more non oil revenue to the Centre than some of the states you mentioned bring from oil. |

casualobserver: Burob:Crude Oil creates other industries like aviation fuel industry, petroleum industry, diesel industry, kerosine, Liquified petroleum gases, petrochemical feedstock, plastics, clothing, gum e.t.c.. without crude oil the transport industry is dead and most businesses and companies in Nigeria rely on fuel or diesel for their generators to power their businesses. the daily activities of over 70 million working class people in Nigeria requires crude oil and its by-products to be operational.. you have a mental problem if you believe crude oil does not contribute over 85% of Nigeria's revenue.. |

codemaniacs:If that is the angle you are coming from, You have an education deficiency if you don’t know that the oil industry is less than 15% of Nigeria’s GDP. We are talking about revenue. The oil industry is becoming less and less a source of government revenue. Crude and gas are the biggest source of official forex but I am sure you will also argue ignorantly when I tell you Nigeria gets more forex from diaspora remittances than it gets from oil. Your cousin abroad who sends money to his parents bring in more forex for the country than Oil…..Shocking I know…but true!!! Our economy has never been an oil economy. Our government revenue had been dependent on oil due to laziness. Don’t confuse the 2! The only major significance of the oil industry to Nigeria is as an official source of forex. The largest companies in Nigeria are not oil companies. Of the top 10 listed companies in Nigeria only 1 is oil related and it is no 10 on the list and it is almost 1/5th the size of the company in no 5 slot which is a food company! Nigerias richest men are not oil related. Food, telecoms, banking is where our economy is. Oil is really only important for forex. The money we are sharing every month, most of it is company tax, vat and customs duty. Please go and verify. |
