1. No EV manufacturer or EV subsidiary of a conventional car manufacturer has ever posted a profit. No, Tesla and the entire Musk operation has never posted a profit since it's inception. Conventional car companies lose money making EVs. 2. EV batteries account for as much as 80-85% of cost of manufacturing EV cars. 3. EV batteries have a shelf life and depreciation in battery life and quality is one slippery slope. Once the batteries go out, it will cost as much as buying a conventional luxury car to have them replaced. 4. EV batteries constantly discharge even when parked and turned off. The batteries require climate control to keep them warm in winter and cool in hot climate. You are not going to escape battery shelf life by keeping the car parked. 5. Manufacturing EV batteries have more environmental footprints than drilling for oil. Those rare earth metals locked in the Congo rainforest need heavy equipment running on so-called fossil fuels to mine. Large swaths of rain forests are depleted to get to those rare earth metals. Huge amounts of water are used in both mining and refining Rare earth metals . The waste waters end up polluting the ecosystem irreparably. 6. EV batteries need power from conventional power plants to charge. Solar panels and wind turbines will not cut it. You need 240volts charging port that will be generated from coal , gas , nuclear powered stations or from Dams. 7. Spent EV batteries are a pain in the ass in disposing off. No one has a clue on how to safely dispose of them. They most likely will end up in land fills. Now imagine the entire planet switches to EVs and imagine how that will be a problem because conventional ICE cars can easily have every component recycled including the engine. 8. You will never see an EV heavy duty truck, trailer . |

Fuel cars all the way |

Pooldrowning:Tesla owners go about with a fuel electric generator . It's as stupid as can be. The best alternative is Hydrogen Fuel cars. Hydrogen is abundant resources. And converting oil based fuel stations to hydrogen fuel is much easier . But they will never allow it because once hydrogen takes off the Jew will not make money .

Elect cars are yet to stand the test of time. Although there are many electric machineries like forklifts, mobile elevators, pallet movers etc operating effectively in Nigerian factories and warehouses, they certainly are not without their challenges. Especially in the area of durability for long-term workability, spare availability, delicate nature and complexity of technical aspect, downtime as a result of recharging, tow becomes necessary on a low battery faraway from recharging terminal, availability of constant power etc... Not alot of individuals can endure these challenges in personal capacity when they arise. I dont really trust the idea of electric vehicles especially in this part of the world where power failure happens 20hrs out of 24hrs. If vehicles that will run solely on solar energy for atleast 500km per hour solar charge cannot be achieved, then manufacturers must keep making gasoline/fuel vehicles for Africa. |

DomPerignon:But there is an Electric aeroplane. How are you sure we won't see an EV heavy duty truck? https://www.popularmechanics.com/flight/a41453056/eviation-electric-aircraft/ |

vivalavida:What's it's payload and its range ? To have an Electric powered passenger aircraft like your average 100 seater plane , you will need a very big battery. There is no way it's going to get off the ground . |
