I would like to know if BlackBerry phones similar to the one in the picture still works in Nigeria for basic services - making calls and text messages? I have a few of these phones and I wanted to know if it is worth bringing back on my trip to Nigeria this holiday and giving out to folks that just need a basic phone. Would appreciate any answers.

Most apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, messenger etc have been disabled for the phone. It has no value other than just to make calls as most apps won't work on it. 4 Likes |

Barrywilly:Thanks. I am looking at giving it to people that just call and text. No social media or apps. So it appears that it might be useful for that purpose. |

Barrywilly:those apps still works on the more recent blackberries phone. Only no longer supported on the older blackberries. It depends on the model type |

Blackberry was such a very beautiful device to behold and sought after then, how it just suddenly got into extinction still beats my imagination. It was blackberry that bought out the beauty of qwerty keypads on mobile and a very good processor and beautiful graphics. Until full touchscreen and android Os devices came into the picture. 4 Likes |

Life is so funny at times, something that was once very cherished and sought after will just suddenly become worthless and valueless. Blackberry was the high-end phone then, like iphones and was so expensive, lots of people were seeking to own one then, some even killed for it, because it was a luxury and social class and wealthy status symbol. I remember in the year 2014 then I got a fairly used blackberry bold 2, if you see the way people and neighbors were hailing me and surprised and treating me like a wealthy, rich person then just because of owning a blackberry device 3 Likes |

I've been wanting one forever, most especially the bold 5, the ones I've been seeing on Jiji are rather too expensive or has faults, i even bought a Z10 last year, the phone just cast.
