You are not getting the clearer pictures, the Russians that will suffer the effect of Putin's war are the younger generations. Just like today's Nigerian graduates, things didn't go bad overnight, it is a slow and gradual process. Russia has the capacity to be the greatest nation on earth. They have both human (intellectuals), and natural resources yet they fall behind countries like Italy ( a congregation of island) in terms of GDP per capital.

What is happening in some European countries partly due to the medium to long term effects of Covid-19 pandemic and the change in the demographics of jobs. There are jobs but no enough workers to employ. They saw the problem in late 2022. That is why some of the European countries introduced job search/work visa early 2023 in order to attract more workers to come and work in order to avoid the economy going into recession.
Russia's economy is also suffering but Putin would not allow any negative news to be published so as not to affect the citizens confidence in him and the useless war that he is fighting.
