Obed-Edom Azikiwe was the father to Nnamdi Azikiwe and the personal secretary to Lord Lugard and he was based in Lugard’s head office at Zungeru. Zungeru was Nigeria’s amalgamation capital.

It was the Senior Azikiwe that drafted the treaties and was the one the British used in convincing traditional rulers to accept the terms of amalgamation.

In Ibo academic circles, Obed-Edom Azikiwe is highly celebrated and is written about in glowing tributes.

One quote from an Ibo historical blog has the following to say about the Senior Azikiwe:

Obed-Edom Azikiwe was no mere staff to Lugard but rather a very important and influential go-between the Colonialist government and the native rulers.

Obed-Edom betrayed the trust of the natives to push for amalgamation by presenting it as a good thing that will prevent the British from waging war on any traditional ruler who did not accept the treaty.

In my book , he bore the terms of capitulation and was no peace maker as most Ibo revisionists want you to believe.

The Senior Azikiwe was as Uncle Tom as they get.

Its thus not surprising that his spawn (Nnamdi Azikiwe) will continue in this path of forced multiculturalism and promote One Nigeria as sacrosanct above all and everything else.

Obed-Edom Azikiwe is believed to have been the first to promote and plant the seeds of Ibo Zionism and there are accounts that this uncle Tom facilitated the miscegenation of Ibo women with British expats so as to create a future racial mullato class based on false Ibo Zionism.
