Threads did lose its initial hype. The data shows that, yes, Threads lost its initial post-launch hype. This doesn't mean it's dead or dying, though, as data shows consumers still seem to remain interested in the platform.

But since that time, Threads has seen traffic sink. Mobile intelligence firm Sensor Tower reported earlier this month that Threads' daily active users had dropped 82% since launch, and there were now just 8 million users accessing the app daily

Is Threads going to be discontinued?

Meta originally launched Threads in October of 2019. The app was discontinued in December of 2021., relaunched again 2023 fully but it seem it going to pack up ones again really soon
