The biggest factors militating against our Industrialization are of different dimensions The biggest factor working against our economic growth is this satanic importation of fuel and the Electricity The first is finally being tackled with the good news that the NNPCL against all odds delivered the first shipment of fuel to Dangote Refinery, even though petrol will not be made available immediately,it will reduce the pressure on our forex Those seeking to import Diesel,Aviation fuel and Kerosene will understand that the game is up Also, this stupid swap arrangement by NNPCL is coming to an end after 30 years.Nigerians will probably not understand this until probably till the second quarter of 2024 when Nigeria stops all importation of fuel This will allow enough foreign exchange to be available in the market and also a competitive pricing for fuel I laugh when I read that most IOCs are leaving Nigeria,I am sorry to speculate but most of this guys were involved in the madness happening at NNPCL. They know the game is up and they have decided to gently leave instead of doing Business the way it ought to be done I really want Nigerians to be patient,by the end of the first quarter of 2024,prices will start to adjust the reality of the day Our Estates are still up for sale, located around the Ibeju Lekki Industrial Hub you are buying into a dream location |

Racoon:Take it easy, don't let negativity ruin your life. The country needs come hard on importers with a sledge hammer. The importers turn the country to a dumping site for all sort of goods that can be locally manufactured which leads to a high level of import forex scarcity. When Dangote starts refined crude production, inflation on crude prices would go down even though it won't be as cheap as subsidized, which would also help in bringing down overall inflation. Which will also drive down interest rate on lending.

Faiththatworks:Oga, you don't even know what is causing the FX scarcity, you think it is just importation, and you think Dangote and Tinubu are here to help anybody.... I feel like saying some words to you but let me let it slide.... |

Faiththatworks:I am sure they dont tutor agbadorians on how the economy Works, dangote refinery wont change much in terms of foreign Exchange. It is either they buy from fg in naira or they import in dollars so if fg sells in naira, they wont be earning any dollar as well vice versa. Govt should eschew looting and wasting the scarce dollars buying foreign cars and galavanting up n down. |

Nigeria is in the loss. When Buhari was president, he was traveling on a speed of 240km/h in wrecking the economy. Tinubu (who have prepared all his life for the position git there by grab it and run with it - Emi lo ko) took over from Bubu, succeeded in wrecking the economy further with a speed that surpasses the speed of light and some gullibles still believe Tinubu have the magic wand to position the country to its path to eldorado. |

Artscollection:You are just blinded by your hatred for Nigeria,Dangote refinery is what Nigeria need and Nigeria will surely rise if it should happen, forex will available unlike never before because there will be a law against trading in dollar in Nigeria there by making it difficult for dangote to sell to locals in dollars Such dollars would be used to import other things, apart from that,Dangote will be able to export there by generating dollar for the central bank Dangote refinery is the game changer for Nigerias economy. |

raskymonojendor:And what are we manufacturing inward? It is not the same government economic policies strangulating the foreign macro-industires that is also choking the life out of the local ones? Which Dangote refinery? Do you know the disadvantage of a monopoly? Why is the government owned NNPC refineries not working despite the huge TAM and most president also being the minister of Petroleum? |

Nigeria is on last run. Those of us that couldn't japa are in hot soup! Na die be dz o! Conclusively: The way the FG is spending money to cater for earnings of political staff is annoying. In this 2023, Nigeria generated N10trn but spent N21trn. And has already proposed N23trn budget for 2024 cos they predicted oil ll sell at $60 - $70 per barrel. What if that's not possible? Werey wo lo n nawo lai pawo? Who spends money without making money? Forgetting the previous debts of Nigeria from past administrations, that means in 2023, there was debt of N11trn. Cos we earned N10trn and spent N21trn. While that isn't a concern to us, we are going to spend N23trn in 2024 and there's no guarantee we can make up to that amount as income. Looking at all these, govt couldn't cut cost of lugubrious earnings of politicians. It remained constant and on the increase. Some still bought N160m SUVs when they could v used Corolla Sport of N4m. Politicians in Nigeria don't know how to cut cost. |

Back in the early 1990s, when Rob Newman and David Baddiel were selling out vast arenas, it was briefly posited that “comedy is the new rock’n’roll”. Today one might surmise that “politics is the new comedy”. In addition to the reality television star in Aso Rock, the party with the largest votes in Nigeria's 2023 general elections – APC – was founded by a former comedian. APC took the cult of live performance to ridiculous lengths. Frequently compared to the atmosphere at WWE wrestling bouts, these events were a manic combination of the scripted, the unscripted and the scripted ‘unscripted’, with BAT taking every opportunity to be as BAT as possible. The danger this whole situation poses is that we constantly encounter serious issues packaged up with unserious ones. |
