People like Reno and others believe Ijebu and Yoruba aren't the same. But for me, Ijebu, as much as Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, is Yoruba.

I am fascinated by their festival (Ojude Oba) and exploits. So I digged in deeper about them. I discovered many of the wealthy and successful Yoruba people are Ijebus. Adenuga, Otedola, Alakija, Tope Awotona, Adebayo Ogunlesi -- all forbes rated dollar billionaires.

Also, I noticed many list rating top successful people in various fields have people of Ijebu descent dominating it especially if it's about business and enterpreneurship.

Is there any subgroup from the West or East or North or South or middlebelt that's more successful than the Ijebu people in Nigeria?

Note: this is not to cause disunity among my Yoruba people. I know Ijebu is Yoruba.

I was talking about the whole Nigeria. You said "among Yoruba, yes" which means there's a subgroup from the Hausa or Igbo or ijaw that's more successful than them. So the onus is on you to mention that subgroup or tribe.

But since you want to derail your own thread... Then I think the igbos... Particularly Nnewi/onitcha group from Anambra have more millionaires and even silent billionaires per ratio compared to any other group in Nigeria!

Igbo is not a subgroup. Is Nnewi a tribe? And Where's your proof they have more millionaires and billionaires than others.

Nnewi existed as a monarch since 1498. That should answer your question about it being a subgroup-or not.

Some of you especially people from Anambra are always driven by ego. Someone made a bogus statement that Nnewi/Onitsha has the highest billionaires and millionaires in Nigeria, instead of you to stop him from making such ridiculous statement, you are trying to support.

You asked me to bring proof of Ijebu having more millionaires and billionaires. Well, I never stated that ijebu has more millionaires andn billionaires than others. What i said was that I noticed ijebu is the most wealthy and successful subgroup in Nigeria. And Ijebu has more billionaires than any Igbo subgroup on forbes for you info.

However, this is not how it's done. I mean we cannot do proper comparison like this. It's not really about mentioning individuals. I can mention ijebus too. If it's by mentioning icons Anioma cannot even match the Egba people or a subgroup from Anambra.

The right way to do it is to bring list of top ten in any field and compare Ijebu representation to Anioma's. With my observations so far, Ijebu beats any other subgroup.

Ijebu are from Ile Ife na. Whenever one see Bu, it means Ocean. While ije means "to eat" or "to dig deep into something" or "to go deep" thus ijebu means "deep into the Ocean".. The Oritsekiri are also Ijebu. Ijebu & Ilaje actually.

I genuinely want to know if there's any other Yoruba subgroup that's wealthier than the Ijebu.

I had this discussion with a friend and he mentioned Ijesha and Egba.
