even if it's not a national asset and it's state's asset... The Governor was totally wrong to demolish the assembly and he should rightly face the wrath of the law soon has his immunity expires, this is not different from what Trump did inspiring rioters to stomp the USA Capitol and now he is facing the music.. A national asset is an asset that the Federal government is holding in trust for itself, the respective States and LGAs and that generate revenue that it uses in meeting it's financial obligations

In the context of Nigeria, the national assets are NNPC, NLNG and, Port Harcourt Refinery, kaduna and Warri Refinery etc

From an Accounting perspective, for an item to be classified as an asset it must meet the following criteria:
1. It must be able to generate future economic value
2. It must be measurable.

So anything that has the propensity to generate revenue for the three tiers of government is what is called a "National asset".

Having said that, there is a clear distinction between national asset and state assets.

The Aso Rock villa, National Assembly complex are labeled as "National monument" and not National Asset. It is a national monument because of it's symbolism as structure that defines our democracy.

The Rivers state House of Assembly is a state monument.

That of Rivers state, the Pleasure park built by the state is a state asset. It is a state asset because it generates revenue to the state.
