This Papua New Guinea own is funny, from one village to another it's a different distinct language, and most of the people aren't exposed to the outside world, they are still living primitive lifestyles. Every clan with its own language
Re: 10 Countries With The Most Languages 2023 by Goalnaldo(m):
As tiny as Papua New Guinea is, they have 841 languages shocked. I miss Jehovah's witnesses awake of years ago. I always learn new things. It was there I heard of Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste( East Timor) for the first time.

Surprised that the United States has that much.
Didn't even know they have different ethnics to that extent.
Though a very big country with large expanse of land , almost equivalent in size to a Continent.
They are civilised. The languages include Hebrews, Yoruba and Igbo. Not necessarily their native language.

In everything "most" Nigeria always tops the list in Africa and comes either 2nd or 3rd in the world but we have never produced any good president that will make the economy better.

When will this country top as the country with the best economy in the world or even Africa?
We often win "most" but never win "best."

Because People like you,if given the small power .e g as a Governor, the first thing to seek is ethnic cleansing! e g the Fulani-Heardmen trying to impose themselves on the rest of other Tribes!
-You can see why Ebonyi is counted as not a true Ibo speaking,as I was shocked two months ago, when my Friend from the East was analysing it and he concluded that those people
don't speak real Ibo,just as I was dazed when I went to Ekiti- Aromoko and I couldn't understand their Yoruba language! So, according to my friend, Ebonyi are better called the Kogi and I was perplexed and keep thinking about it since!
•So, America used their diversity to propagate the 'American Dream' !
•Do you know that once you are in America, it's your Skill and Competence that counts- there is nothing like State of Origin, etc.
The same with most Western Countries like Canada, etc.
It's when you turned against the State e .g Fraud, Terrorists or Insurrections - they trace you to their Database and get hold of you!
That is why they will remained Number 1 in the World!

By courtesy of immigration, not by indigenousness.

In light of this, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia are worth the marvel.

Native Americans alone can account for more than 100 indigenous languages in the US. All the many native American tribes each speak a different language most times not mutually intelligible.
That was in the past. Today more than 98% of native Americans speak English.

United states?? thought they only speak english language, never knew they have diverse range of ethnic groups
USA don't have any diverse range of ethnic groups. Those people are known as immigrants! They're not indigens. Americans speaks only English language. You as an immigrant travels to USA and starts speaking Yoruba, Igbos etc. Hope you understand now?

It's the immigrant languages bro. Only the aboriginal languages (American Indian languages) English and Spanish are the major languages that has enough case for the term "Ethnics" in America. French was largely spoken in Lousiana but I don't know whether it has enough relevancy to be termed an ethnic language.

Diversity in US is not about immigrants, they have different indigenous cultures and languages. Even English is not totally agree as their official language as many regions are using indigenous languages in house of assembly and written their laws

This list has to be about native languages and not that of immigrants otherwise, Nigeria also will have more than 537 listed.

Also, other Cosmopolitan countries like the UK, Canada, Russia, Israel will all be on the list if immigrants languages are counted.

Are you saying that the over 500 languages spoken in the US today are all from native Americans?
