Sanwo-Olu Appoints Oyetunde-Lawal As New General Manager Of LASODA by Lanrelagboi(op): 6:13am On Dec 22, 2023
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal as the new General Manager of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) with effect from 19th December 2023. 

A statement signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro said the appointment is in recognition of Mrs. Oyetunde-Lawal’s impressive track record as a reputable lawyer, highly qualified alternate dispute resolution, human resource personnel, and an emotional intelligence coach.

According to him, "The State Government expects the new General Manager to demonstrate a high level of dedication, diligence, and selflessness in the discharge of her duties to justify the confidence and trust reposed in her by Mr. Governor".  

Before her appointment, Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Persons With Disabilities (Disability and Inclusion).

Her passion-driven conversations around the plight of disability in Nigeria led her to establish the Amputees United Initiative, a social group specifically for amputees. She also uses advocacy to push for and encourage the inclusion of persons with disability in Nigeria.

At least it will give them hope they can get to certain height despite the disability. Also how can she truly connect with them, if she isn't disabled or have a close family that is disabled.

Governor Sawanolu is actually doing well by appointing significant numbers of young women into his cabinet so far. He is worthy to be emulated unlike our eastern and northern brothers.

That woman you are seeing is a technocrat. He would never be appointed if she has no knowledge about meeting the needs of the disabled people.

I agree with the commenters above me.
However A quick background check about the woman indicates that she is one-legged physically disadvantaged.
Only that her track record in that sector and others already overshadows whatever disabilities she ever had, hence qualified her for the job.
Hers is an inspiration to everyone.

Having a disabled family member isn't enough, the person should be Disabled too so those disabled people can feel free and relate with him or her. We have very smart, educated and intelligent Disabled people.Making a wholesome person the Head of the Disabled people Agency is nothing but a mockery and further humiliation of those they seek to help.

The previous GM was a physically challenged individual. He was very good at his job and connected to his people.
This one can't connect to any physically challenged persons. She just wants to answer GM.

The previous GM was wheelchair bound . Tho he can move on his own steam once a while
He never hid his disability.
