Aside the fact that you're just following the crowd, what important reason takes you to church on 31st night.

Some already had morning service being a Sunday...but must still attend the night.

That service only favors one party i guess...
Do you know there are much more things you can do for yourself by yourself at home in that night hour...

Is the 'watchnight' service more important than the regular sunday service??

Nigerians have been brainwashed to believe that going to service on the first minute of the year as any effect on their overall success. It is sickening how easily deceived Nigerians have always been.

It's a deep brainwashing..it will take years to breakout.
That service is purely a waste of time, security and health risk to those that will trek to their houses at midnights.

True disciples of Christ don't participate in such unscriptural practice, we take each day in the whole year special, our prayers are the same. The only special day in the year to us is Nizan 14 of the Jewish Calendar because that is the day Jesus offered the greatest sacrifice ever on this planet and COMMANDED us to always remember each year.
Apart from that all days are the same to Jehovah's Witnesses!
