Supreme Court's Judgement On Plateau Governorship Election. by Praxis758(op): 5:17pm On Jan 12, 2024
Now that the Supreme Court validated the victory of Caleb Muftwang of the PDP and nullified the ground of the APC technicality.

The Supreme Court delivered Caleb Muftwang on the ground that it was the PDP at federal level that is constitutionally empowered to conduct party congresses at state levels.

The APC challenged all the PDP victories on the ground that there was a court order restraining the Plateau PDP from conducting any congress which the PDP disobeyed and, therefore, all the primaries conducted by the delegates from those congresses were illegal and unknown to our laws.

Some federal lawmakers of PDP were punished by the Tribunal and Appeal courts because their party disobeyed the court order.

Governor Caleb Muftwang scaled through this hurdle that slaughtered his other party men. The Supreme Court said the Federal High Court should have be the requisite court with jurisdiction to take on the suite.

Question:

Should those lawmakers that were sales by the Court of Appeal approach the Supreme Court for redress by citing this judgment that upheld the victory of Governor Caleb Muftwang because they both had the same congress that produced their candidacy?

Wise opinions please.

O ti lo.

However, those Judges maybe sanctioned by the NJC if the sacked lawmakers begin a well co-ordinated protest. The "catch" though is if they play their cards well and the Gov doesn't under-perform, they will return in 2027.

Thats the sad episode. They were unjustly removed. And they were popularly elected. Some legal advisors think a Judicial review can be applied for. Or a recall of the APC legislators so as to warrant new election for all assembly seats.

The national and state assembly electoral matters can't go beyond the appeal court level and at that stage their fate was decided but i think the only way out is since they had the majority votes,is even much easier to instigate their constituency to commence recalling of the APC law makers whom were unjustly made to be there....this is the only way justice can be served.

the idea of barring their case from supreme court is unconstitutional and against the law of the land, we need a good lawyer to challenge that law.
