A few minutes ago, residents of Ibadan, particular the Bodija area, reported hearing a loud explosion which shook their buildings, door and windows. People in different parts of Ibadan also reported hearing the sound. Does anyone know the source? Was it a bomb?

From what we hear, it seems it’s gas explosion. But the magnitude shook a wider area.

I’m sure in few minutes time, official statement will be released.

It's gas explosion behind Ventura.

It's bomb blast at Sango area, it exploded by the road side. People in areas afar felt the impact.

Am in bodija and we are still trying to find out what happened. Even the police station at Sango close to Ventura has no clue yet.

It's from bodija. Damage extent not yet ascertained

It is being reported that is was a mini earthquake

Let's hope the government comes up with official information on time. I learnt it reverberated over a wide area in the city.
