I am gladdened by reports of Nigerian students from Christ The King College, Onitsha, Anambra State, who recently won the global awards of both National Champions and Regional Top in the Africa Regional competition of the prestigious World Affairs Challenge (WAC), an international program and competition hosted by WorldDenver. The Nigerian students, through their winning project - Wize Tales by Primus, aimed to contribute their solutions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by developing initiatives that will empower Nigerian youths to become active agents of change in society. I congratulate the students who have not only brought honour to our nation, but whose victory has again reinforced my advocacy for more investment in education.

Given the right educational training and conducive environment, our naturally gifted and talented Nigerian youths can excel on the global stage. I also recall that Christ The King College, Onitsha, was one of the schools, I returned to their original owners, the Church when I was the Governor of Anambra State. They have continued to grow stronger in their educational standards. I thank the proprietor, the management, and the teachers of the College for their efforts in equipping Nigerian students with the right learning and character.

I remain committed to investing aggressively in education for it remains critical to our development in the New Nigeria which is POssible. -PO

Peter Obi did a marvelous work, returning the schools to their rightful owners; the church, and today, even the blind man, the deaf and dumb can feel the impact. In education, no other state comes close to ANAMBRA.

There were children of very rich and influential men in government owned secondary schools then in Benin City with 3 particularly in my class.

Government school used to be the go to school, the standard private schools follow.

I swear private schools were almost non existent in those days..

But now even average parents send their children to private schools and bear the burnt of exorbitant prices because of low standard of nowadays government schools..

I don't want to talk about waterboard supplying water with underground pipe. In my area then in Medical Store Road, 80 percent of the houses had taps. Hell, there were only 2 known boreholes in the entire neighborhood.

Nigeria has really retrograded over the years.

This is missionary school run privately.. Has nothing to do with government.. Why dont u say covenant university is the handwork of ogun state government na... U want to steal work of missionaries and attribute it to obi who has nothing to show..

If you are asked to state who first returned schools to missionaries btw Tinubu n Peter Obi you no go fit talk again.

Same Peter Obi never built a single school in his 8 years as governor, increased tuitions by over 300% on top of this the fool refused to pay both teachers and Doctor over a year long salary.

But my people won't stop celebrating mediocrity n failure out of tribal bigoted sentimental even when such failures stare them in the face
