I wish him all the best. I see many of our countrymen striving to make an honest living here, while others unfortunately contribute to the challenges.

There are numerous unfavorable remarks about the UAE (and Arabs), and I find myself questioning the reasons behind them. Having resided in the UAE since 2019, I struggle to identify any other nation that provides the opportunities and benefits that this place offers.
You made a valid point. Most them I haven't travelled to those countries or are living there illegally.

I have travelled to UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya and Morocco. Kuwait is my favourite. There are lots of opportunity in some of those countries, if you have the required skills. But some people will just sit in Nigeria and be condemning.

Are they more heartless than our fellow Nigerian brothers?
Let him says what he likes. Which of those Arab countries has mineral, material and manpower resources like or more than Nigeria, that we are going there to hustle?
None. If they are heartless, the little they have could have been properly and prudently managed by their leader and leadership for themselves to enjoy and others to benefit from them.

How them take heartless?

He survived for months without work...Arabs were giving him money and food. An Arab person employed him as tailor, paid his over stay fine, processed papers for his long term/permanent stay while ensuring he has a job to live on.
Oh,you forgot the jail term abihuh??

UAE? God forbid! He should’ve tried Christian Caucasian nations. Those ones don’t see humans as tireless donkeys. He wouldn’t have worked as hard as Arab slave masters will put him through. At least human lives are sacred that way. The pay is good and of higher value than most Arab nations’.
My experience in Dubai will never make me advise anyone to go there looking for job. I could remember I got a packaging and loading job in a lubricating oil packaging company owned by an Iranian man. After I operated machine packing liters of oil into a carton, I would still be responsible with others for loading the cartons into containers to be shipped to Cameroon.

This company boss refused to process my visa while keeping my passport. In the middle of loading a container one day, I felt like my back was going to break. I threw in the towel immediately and walked up to the boss asking him I’m done and he should give me back my passport. I no do again 😄. I no fit come die for Dubai. He answered back telling me I will have to go back to Nigeria if that’s the case. I said yes I don’t mind going back.

That was my end in Dubai. I checked out a couple of days later having overstayed for two days. I came back to Nigeria.

The whole world seemed crumbling down on me. But I never gave up. Now I’m in the US seven years now. Hallelujah!!

He was jailed based on information presented to law enforcement and courts. Once found innocent, he was released. Tell me this does not happen anywhere else.

He was in jail for a few months pending when he can be proved innocent. The same 'Arabs' declared him innocent.

Is this peculiar to the Arab world or it's similar to the USA where people have languished in prison for decades only to be declared innocent later after they have wasted their youth?

Na so. Good on you. The funny part is — guys I know who worked in UAE — claimed Dubai is enjoyment compared to other countries in the region.

I heard they don't issue visa to Nigerians anymore, how true is that?
It's a serious matter. You can only get visa based on weighty Nigerian's recommendation and connection to Emirates.
